worst hotel ever ,my balcony was a storage for beds and cupboards , aircon did not work and they did noy care , every time i walked in reception area they try and sell you a trip for alot more money than else where ,they never spoke to me when they found i booked tours else where !!!! breakfast was not worth getting or waiting for !! and as for all day refreshments ,that was a lie ,only when it suited them not late in evening thats for sure
The owner David is great, they go out of their way to help you out. Picked us up from the train station and gave us breakfast when it was past the time for brekky. Our room wasn't the best but it was quiet and fine. Value for money
A pleasant surprise
The World Hotel ticked all the boxes. First the cost - the room delivered more than I expected for $US 11 per night. Huge room, and quieter than I hoped. Hotel is just off a busy road in a little side-street, with very little through traffic. Ideal position for noisy Hanoi. Next the free breakfast was plentiful, different choices and well prepared. Next free drinks all day - meant I could sight-see and shop, then return and the lovely staff would make me a cup of tea and my husband a lovely milk coffee. Staff have excellent grasp of English and can organise trips, trains etc. They also phone for taxi and speak to driver to ensure we are not ripped off by the many crooked taxi drivers in Hanoi. Never asked to pay more for a taxi than the hotel staff told us to. This is enough reason to stay at World Hotel. Opposite hotel is the best outdoor food stall in Vietnam - 10000 Dong for Pho, noodles, menu changes for breakfast, lunch and dinner but price remains the same. Everywhere else best price was 35000 dong. Dont expect a 3 or 4 star hotel for this price, but this hotel is basic, clean and safe and cheaper than anything else in Hanoi of comparable rating.
A wise choice for a budget hotel
When looking for a budget hotel in Hanoi, nothing beats this hotel. I mean, with only 20$ a day, what can you expect more than a decent room with basic utilities? But this hotel does offer you many times more than that. Very friendly atmosphere, and helpful people who will go great length to assist you in whatever you need during your stay. Moreover, free breakfast and free drinks all day are huge bonus. What's even greater is that they have free wifi and you can still get updated or update your friends about your experience. Better still, this hotel locates at a strategic spot of the capital, which is super duper near the Old Quarter and Dong Xuan market, so I bet you will never run out of places to go around. It is also only 15 minutes motorbike-time from other places of interest, so rest assured that you won't have to pay so much for transportation. For such a awesome stay and considering its ideal location, I and my mom wondered how come it cost that little. In the end, we all tremendously enjoy our stay here.

the receiption look very small but my room was very good. n the people work there r friendly.

I really enjoyed my stay at the world hotel. The staff are excellent. The free breakfast is great value. I shopped around to check out prices for local tours and the world hotel has the best prices. Everyone who works here was very helpful in giving us tips for getting around the city. I went to halong bay on a one day trip and had a wonderful time. I was worried about checking into the hotel at 1am but the world hotel has someone to help you with customer service 24 hours a day. I would reccomend this hotel to my friends and all fellow travellers.
