The hotel is located in the middle...
The hotel is located in the middle of the budget travelers/ backpackers area and surrounded by cheaper hostels. This means there are often more white faces in the street than local Vietnamese which is strange. Around the corner are some useful cafes, one in particular is a local variation of Star bucks and has free WIFI internet.
It is still a ten minute taxi ride to the other more popular tourist areas where the Rex and Caravelle hotel are located.
Generally the hotel is good clean value for money. There is a dubious disco/ bar and massage on the first floor, for those who are into this. However I would recommend the excellent barber. Not only do the ladies give a fine head and shoulder massage during the shampoo, they also are very attractive in their skimpy dresses reflected in the wall to wall mirrors.
A good hotel for the male business traveller on a budget. Probably not so ideal for family touritsts visiting the local sights.

I enjoyed my week long stay at the Liberty 4.
The location was fine and there was good selection of travel agents and eateries in the area.
The breakfast selection was good and the staff helpful and pleasant!

Great location, for bars tour-agents and restaurants. Have used this hotel since, and will use again. bit noisy at front so if you get chance ask for room at rear.

Fantastic hotel right in the heart of the action. If anything it would be a bit noisy. Very nice large rooms and friendly service.

Overall and average hotel but bell boy insist on getting a taxi for us to the airport at 95,000 VND but we found another cab ourselve outside along the opposite road for 70,000 VND.We could see his displeasure when we board the cab.

Strongly recommend the bell boy "kong/cong", he speaks good english compare to the rest of the staff there. He is friendly and very helpful.
One disadvantage about the hotel is the hair saloon, with only 1 hair dryer!! Unbelievable right?

The hotel made the cardinal sin of not holding my confirmed booking, then added insult to injury by replacing my room with an inferior one at another hotel for the first night!
Aside from this problem, the hotel is fine overall: the location is excellent, breakfast is good, room is clean and fair-sized, staff is not friendly but functional; for a hotel its size, the lifts are tiny. Because Liberty 4 is quite popular with European tour groups, do expect a big (and sometimes rude) crowd during breakfast hours.

This hotel is of a high standard for the accommodation fee, including a generous breakfast at the top floor.
The personal attitude to each customer should be specifically recommended.
We had a personal experience where the staff's excellence was prominent: Upon arriving at the hotel we found out that we had left a small bag with passports and money in the taxi that brought us from HCMC airport. With the prompt response of the registration desk staff and the entrance door staff, the taxi was located, and the left bag was returned to us within 10 minutes. We have thanked the staff personally, and wrote an appreciation letter to the hotel manager.
All in all, in our next trip to HCMC Liberty 4 will be our choice.
I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived...
I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at Liberty 4. It was much better than I had expected. Staff were very helpful, room was great, clean and spacious. Bathroom was a little pokey but all in all we were very impressed considering the price we paid.
We had massages within the hotel at the beauty parlour and we were all felt up, even my father! They asked if we wanted more if you get what I mean. We were quite appauled by that, they also expected a big tip. You would think in a hotel the massages would be legit but definitely not here.
