My husband and I stayed 3 nights...
My husband and I stayed 3 nights at the Elios in May. What a fabulous value hotel it is. We had just a standard room and it was so, so clean and comfortable with every amenity you could need. The location was brilliant, just a leisurely 10 minute walk to the big markets and it had a great selection of restuarants and bars a stones throw away. The roof top restaurant in the hotel has THE most amazing views over HCMC. I travel alot for my work and stay mostly in 5 star hotels but The Elios exceeded my expectations and I would really recommend it to anyone wanting great value for money in a top location of HCMC.

I would have rated the service higher, but when we arrived at the hotel, the receptionist (I wish I would have asked for her name) was talking negatively about me (white American girl) in Vietnamese, not realized that my Vietnamese husband spoke the language and understood everything she said. I was appalled that she wasn't more professional and that is the sole reason why we will never stay at the Elios again nor will I recommend it to friends and associates. The room was very small and smelled like smoke on a non-smoking floor. I asked to be moved and they said they were full and instead brought in an air nuturalizer, which worked ok. No natural light in the room, as the only window was tiny and faced into the alley. The lobby and internet services were great, too bad the service outweighed the other good attributes of the Elios.

It was a fairly positive experience @ Elios hotel. The staff were hospitable and their service reasonably good . Room space for two asians is pretty acceptable (Mine is the std rm btw). It will definitely be better if there is a bath tub to soak in though. Breakfast was ok- can definitely do with more variety and quicker replenishment. Its good that there is a breakfast special every morning. (you need to order it specifically). Nice view from the restaurant too :) Oh btw, did i mention tt the hotel do take note of our special request of having a room on a high & non-smoking flr...thumbs up for that :)

We could not fault the service and attention at the Elios. The staff were attentive to our needs and willingly changed our room when the facilities werent suitable. We were very impressed with the boys who were out the front - they would assist us across the road and always noticed our arrival and were there with an umbrella and a helping hand. We decided to return to the Elios after a side trip and all the staff welcomed us back. It really made us feel at home. Well done to the staff and management at Elios. You really went out of your way to look after us.

Location is good if considering signing up with tour operators nearby. Helpful security staff assisting with road crossing on first arrival. Front desk agreed not to withhold our passports. Breakfast spread is fantastic. Room service leave much to be desired - our olive oil was replaced by bath foam. We did not make a report as in a hurry to check out the next day. Avoid 11th floor just below the restaurant/gym.

The room was much smaller than what we expected with no windows. We were hardly in the hotel so we could made do with the room size. But the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, provided us with much help and information. The good thing about the breakfast spread was that it was changed everyday. You won't feel yaks even though you may eat atthe same place for 5 days!

We spent 3 nights in this hotel,...
We spent 3 nights in this hotel, 2 nights - at the beginning of our trip and 1 at the end of it. The hotel has got great location. There are a lot of restaurants, cafes, travel agencies and small shops around the hotel. Nice view from the top floor restaurant. Breakfast is quite nice and usual for Vietnamese hotels, not bad but nothing special. Rooms are big enough and everything is new inside: furniture, bed-clothes and towels. The rooms are very cozy. The room and the bath room are extremely clean. There is quite big safe, small fridge and hair-drier in superior and deluxe rooms and thermos with boiled water and tea and coffee in deluxe room. Also there is a plate with some fruits upon arrival and very big TV in deluxe room. There is a big bath in deluxe room and a shower in superior room. Once we saw some small ants in the bathroom, but not any in the room. Some people say that there is a big problem with cockroaches in many Vietnamese hotels, but thanks God we didn’t see any neither in Elios nor in other hotels we stayed in Vietnam and Cambodia! We spent 2 days in deluxe room on the 7th floor and 1 night in superior room on the 11th floor. Don’t stay on 11th floor because of restaurant on the last floor. It’s very noisy in the morning, people go out from the elevators on the 11th floor and go upstairs to the restaurant for having breakfast. Also you will smell restaurant’s odors every day, sometimes even in you room. Air condition in the room works very good and when you leave your room it works, in some hotels if you go out from your room and take the key, air condition stops working. There are two small complimentary bottles of mineral water every day in each room. There is tiny window in superior room, we have never seen such in other hotels! But there is a very big one in de luxe room. The stuff is very helpful and speaks English fluently. They meet you with tasty fruit juice when you arrive and it seemed to us that it was fresh pineapple and pomelo juice. Reception can book a taxi to the airport for 6-7$. If your room faces the street you will hear the traffic noise during all the day even if you stay on high floor. Our superior room on 11th floor didn’t overlook the main street but we still could hear the noise, but it’s typical for Vietnam if the hotel is in the center of the city. We liked this hotel very much and would stay there again.

My only comment is that the room given to me has no window(s) although this can be a plus if one does not want to hear the noise in the street. The room size was appropriate for the price. One good thing is that the bathroom/toilet is clean. I also liked the fact that Internet WiFi is readily available 24/7. Service generally was good! Yes, Elios will definitely be included in the roster of hotels I will consider when I go back to Ho Chi Minh City.
