Nice clean hotel but extras are very expensive.
This is a clean and comfortable hotel with nice furnishings. The hotel is getting a little old but it is well maintained. The location was not in the centre of the city but it was easy to taxi to main centre. The main issue we had with the hotel is that food, drinks, wifi and hotel transfers were very expensive. The prices were at least double the cost of other 4 star hotels we stayed in. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for this reason.

Very Nice
We found the Equatoral to be a very nice cleen upmarket hotel the resurant onlevel 2 was fantasic the service and food really top class and not to badly priced. The only critisisim I would have is the pool can become very busy (with non hotel guests) wich can make it noisy and had to relax but apart from that all was good o avarage it cost us about $2 US to getinto the city proper the local Taxi service was honest and clean Thanks to the Managment and staff

District 5
hotel staff where excellent always willing to try and answer any questions that we had. Free shuttle bus into city centre was very convenient. room a little outdated but was clean and quiet which was the main thing with all the traffic around. could have done with extra bed for child with us but this was not included in price quoted from booking even though requested.

Nice hotel
I have been staying at this hotel for a long period back in late 1990s, since then they have improved a lot and maintain the proper feeling of a very good hotel. We stayed at the clubfloor and it can be highly recommended. Dont miss the pool with its sunken barstools where you can enjoy your drinks while sitting in the pool. Will use this hotel again when in Saigon. Short ride away from District1 and its shopping and entertainment, and even closer to Ben Tan marked which should be seen.

Dissatisfied
Hotel old but been refurbished. Foyer and rooms 5 star. Service - most staff try hard but poor English - some staff not friendly at all Food mostly Asian cuisine - nothing to write home about. In future would pay higher price - get what you pay for. Definitely not 5 star hotel despite their claims to the contrary.

Nice hotel and good location
This was our 1st hotel out of 3 in Vietnam. We arrived early after a long flight from the UK, to be told our room was ready. However the reception staff were very slow and if someone else came along they stopped what they were doing for you and started to service other people, this was a bit annoying and did happen a few times.
Room was lovely and spacious, we had after for a double bed but got 2 singles, they were pushed together, so wasn't too much of a problem, but would have been nice to get what we asked for. The staff would knock each night to see if we needed any extra toilets etc which was good as there was only 2 towels in the room and being a lady there was no towel for my hair each night.
My partner celebrated his 40th birthday while we were here and on that day we arrived back to the room and found a card for him and a platter of fruit, which was lovely (i hadn't informed them of his birthday).
The hotel was in walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go to. The concierge team were very helpful and the complimentary shuttle bus was really handy to get to Ben Tranh market.
We decided to have a drink in the hotel on our last night, we arrived there at 11pm and everything was pretty much shut. We ordered a drink from the menu, the price seemed reasonable, but when the bill came they had added 10% tax on to it and then another 5% service charge and this then made the drinks extortionate and not worth the cost, this was disappointing and we felt like we were being ripped off.
We left the hotel very early - 5:30am and there was still a taxi waiting there to take us to the airport.
The front of this hotel is lovely and pulling up and seeing a huge christmas tree in the foyer was lovely!
