"The Windsor Plaza is a well presented,..."
The Windsor Plaza is a well presented, clean and stylish hotel. We stayed there for 6 nights, 3 at the start of our trip and 3 at the end. The rates we paid on AsiaRooms made the Windsor well priced, but I would have been very disappointed if I had paid the hotel's walking rate of $US160 per night. The breakfast was good, although the staff need further training- be prepared to hunt yourself for cutlery and coffee cups!! English is spoken well by some of the front counter staff and all staff are polite, but to order room service you need the patience of a saint! The quality of the room service food is not worth the expensive prices, but the 24hr cafe on the 4th floor is well priced and the food is good. On both check-ins, I had to complain and change rooms, as we were given a room with two single beds- even though we checked in on both occasions as Mr & Mrs. But the rooms are spacious, comfortable and very clean with lovely bathrooms and the standard of room cleaning is exceptional. The only drawback of the Windsor is the location. As this was our first time to HCMC, we had no idea that district 5 was so far from the 'action', shopping, bars and resturants. Around the hotel, the area is... a culture shock. The shuttle bus was convenient, but we always caught a taxi on return. For first time tourists, the hotel is not ideal or recommended - only because of the location. For those who know HCM or dont mind the distance the AsiaRooms rates make the hotel very good value.

To be honest in my opinion it should be rated as a 3 star hotel (European standart) which shall mean some extras but nothing is special. I have to say thou that it was still

The hotel was great, very efficient. The problem of the location is compensated with a free shuttle that takes you to District 1 and leaves every hour. The only thing to complaint about is that we asked for a non-smoking room but the room smelled really bad to smoke.

5 mins from centre of town, but free bus regularly with 4 stops. Over top of large shopping centre with supermarket, very handy. Good value for money, much cheaper than hotels in city centre. Would stay again.
