Too expensive
The location of that hotel is really good. Directly on the river with a nice view and just 5 minutes walk to the center of the ancient town of Hoi An. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The pool is clean and good. The breakfast is not really good. Just not really fresh bread and not tasty. Not even the traditional Pho was tasty. The offered tours (such like snorkeling, open tours etc.) were all more expensive then others I looked up in the city. Even the airport transfer was more expensive then other providers. A credit card was not accepted at the check out. In my opinion the stay was not worth the rate of 56 dollars a night. Thats too expensive for what is provided. I would not recommend the hotel to friends.
really enjoyed my recent stay. I found the staff very accomadating. However, when using the internet provided. My email was hacked, the computers ran very slowly and seemed they were not maintained very well.
The location is perfect being so close to the old town and a little quieter away from the vehicle horns. The resort has everything going for it with its well kept refreshing pool, well appointed bar & restaurant & charming veg garden however the meals are very poor in the restaurant. We ate each morning for breakfast which was satisfactory however poor in relation to even lower star hotels elsewhere. We ate in the restaurant 2 other times but the dishes were nothing what were ordered. 3 out of 4 computers were not working & the service stopped at 10pm. There are plenty of staff but the service is lacking. There is no Visa facility although on check in was told there was so had to produce cash at the end of the stay.

I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. If you are deciding whether you want to stay there now just read this prior to booking anything and you will be grateful:
We were informed that we had a 'complimentary transfer' from the train station to the hotel, and no one was there. After waiting for over an hour for someone to arrive, we phoned the hotel. After apologising, the staff member said she would give us a 50% discount on our accomodation to make up for the mistake.
We paid for a taxi to get to the hotel. $25 later upon our arrival we tried to confirm about the discounted room rate and were told that this was not going to happen. We asked if they could cover the $25 taxi fare and they said no.
We were disappointed but didn't want this to ruin our holiday so we decided to start afresh and forget about everything. Then we were shown to our room.
The beds were as hard as blocks of cement (so uncomfortable!), there was no hot water (nothing!) and the telephone did not work. The towels were tiny and as thin as tissues, there was no WiFi, and the tv had no reception. The bathroom looked like it was falling apart, the Safe for our valuables did not work. The door into the room was not secure, anyone could have broken in if they really wanted to.
Outside, the pool was green. We thought it may just be the colour of the tiles in the pool but after getting in it we realised it was actually mould, so we quickly got out.
Due to the bad arrival experience we decided not to book any tours with the hotel and this turned out to be a good decision, as tours booked from the plentiful tour desks in the Central Market area were much cheaper and better value for money.
When checking out of the hotel (despite the description of the hotel saying 'Credit Card facilities') they told us that they only would accept cash. This was inconvenient as we then had to trek all the way into town to withdraw money from an ATM for them.
Upon departure we tried to get a 'complimentary' transfer back to the train station and we were charged $12 for it. On top of this, the car was 30 mins late to pick us up and the hotel owner put half his family who wanted a lift in the car with us all the way back to the train station.
Everytime we tried to communicate with the hotel owner/manager he was all of the below:
a). Counting money.
b). Ignoring us.
c). Extremely rude.
We would never stay at this "resort" again and nor would we recommend it to anyone we know.
The clincher for us was, while waiting 30mins for our transfer away from this dump, we found a Comments book for the hotel and read through it. There was 90% negative feedback and this is no exaggeration. Only good thing was some people had way worse experiences than we did so we were grateful ours was not the worst of all. We were annoyed we didn't see this book earlier because we probably would have checked out after reading some of the horror stories in it.
Look elsewhere if you can, avoid this place because it will ruin your holiday.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 days, the location of the property is very close to the old town. The rooms where a good size and the food was ok. The people polite and amenities are what you pay for. The only problem we had was checking out, i had read in a previous review that someone had problems trying to pay by credit card and had to go and get cash out!! However there was no way we could give them cash and just like magic the credit card facilities were working again!! Ha ha!

This was a very nice hotel in many ways -- good breakfast, nice room, excellent service and facilities, lovely gardens, near to the old town, free Internet. However, there was no electronic safe in the room as stated in the brochure and we had a very unfortunate experience.
We put our money and valuables in the main safe at reception as advised. The envelope was stapled and I signed over the seals at the edge of the envelope. They then cellotaped over my signature. However, when i got it back I put my money in my wallet without checking it. Then I moved on and when I checked my cash I found I was nearly 200 US Doillars and 90 british pounds short. The only possible explanation was that the money had been lost while in the safe at Pho Hoi Resort. I have complained to the manager by email but have not had a reply in the first 3 days.
So I would not recommend this hotel until their security procedures are tightened up.

Thee Pho Hoi Riverside Resort was a nice place to stay, close to the Hoi An markets. Staff were friendly and the service was good. Only problem we had was they wanted us to pay in cash not credit card. Although they did tell us on arrival that this was the case we did forget when we went to book out.
Great location and just over the road...
Great location and just over the road is a great place to hire bikes and get laundry done cheaper than hotel

we rather thought they just said this to avoid costs for themselves
so, as our taxi was waiting, there was no time left to go to a bank and had to borrow cash money from our family who stayed some more days
