Location Location Location
We stayed in Mid April 2011 we had a Junior suite with extra bed on the ground floor at the front of the building our friends rooms was massive (same junior suite) but ours was heaps smaller and the bath had not been installed and there was wiring hanging out in the toilet wall. Our teenage daughter was staying in our room and there was no privacy when you got out of the shower so we had to make sure we went out when she showered and vice a versa. I complained to the manager about our room size and she did show us some other rooms that weren't renovated so we decided to stay. Breakfast was a good selection with an egg & crepe station. I would suggest you take a (plug in bug catcher) as there were mozzies in our room and the windows don't close properly. We hired bikes from the hotel which were great value at $2US a day, we rode down to the sister hotel at the beach and thought we would have a swim. We were told there was a charge for towels, so we took our own from our hotel and were also told that there would be a charge for the day beds, no problems we only wanted a swim to cool off, but were then followed around like criminals by a guy with a walkie talkie so we wouldn't swim in there pool as there is a cost of $5US per person, which was not told to us before leaving. I found this extremely expensive for a swim it would have cost us $30US for a swim. So beware, but the location is fantastic to the old city. Cheap laundry across road Mrs Bong.

Not a happy experience.
Booked a junior suite at the Hoi An hotel but after check in I got an ordinary room (even without curtains). The room (527) was located on the first floor next to the pool.
In the morning around 6 a.m. the first guests were having their swim and at midnight the last guests had their chat around the pool.
As the stairs to the first floor were opposite my room I could hear around 3 a.m. guests coming back from their night out in town.
When checking out one of the staff admitted that at that moment no junior suites were available.
Cannot recommend this hotel and will (of course) not come back.

The hotel setting is excellent being very close (400m) to Hoi An old town. Rooms at the front will be very noisy due to carpark, school and the hotels open air karaoke bar. We had a room at the back which was very quiet. There are numerous laundry facilities just outside the hotel much cheaper than the hotel charged. Can highly recommend Mrs Bong. The style is old colonial - wood shutters and balconies but very comfortable and all teh staff were friendly.

I think this is a gem of a hotel. although it does cater for groups the rooms are really lovely & the breakfast has vastly improved! They have a small hot fitness room with a couple of machines which basically needs decent air con & some savvy people to make it useful because exercise is badly needed with such a great cuisine! that would up the standard immediately. it can be noisy at night, but right in the center of town!

Relatively expensive for Hoi An. We were there with a whole bunch of American schoolkids that were noisy and took over the pool until late in the evening. There are other and cheaper options in Hoi An that we would try if we returned. Breakfasts were pretty average. Staff were friendly, but you expect that in Vietnam. OK overall, just not a stand out.

I have now visited Vietnam 8 times and always stay in Hoi An. This is the 3rd time I have stayed at the Hoi An Hotel. It is conveniently located and the amenities are first class. The pool is a great place for relaxation after a busy day shopping or seeing the sights in this beautiful town. The choices offered for breakfast are many and varied and guaranteed to please. The excellent staff are very friendly and only too happy to assist. Highly recommended

Very nice hotel, easy walking distance from centre, all the facilities you would expect in this price range. The staff were very helpful and pleasant, room clean and comfortabe. The only thing we didn't enjoy quite so much was eating in the dining room, which is a big empty barn of a place (we avoided the garden in the evening for fear of insects, but with hindsight, it might have been a better choice). The breakfasts there were very good, however. The only reason I probably won't go back there is that I prefer smaller, family-run places. Please note also that ther is no lift, so make sure you are not on the third floor if stairs are difficult for you - the receptionist did check that this was OK for us before she assigned the room. All in all, a very pleasant and comfortable place to stay in Hoi An.
