Must stay here!!!
This place is brilliant, by far the best place that we stayed in during our whole trip in Vietnam. The staff were very friendly (even the gardeners greeting you with 'good morning') and they were quick to provide you a drink on arrival and a refresher towel every time you walked back into the hotel. The surrounds are stunning, the pool is superb along with the poolside drink service, the shuttel bus to the beach and into town is great, free bicycle hire was an option I used every day, and the breakfast was good. The rooms themselves are large, open and cool and were nice to return to after walking around in 38 degree heat. Whilst it is not right in the heart of the town itself, it is half way between the beautiful beach and the town and the free bicycles and shuttel bus are perfect for getting to either. The only slight criticism I would have is that the lighting in the room is a little dim.

Fantastic service and value for money
My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the room and the lush garden. The friendliness of the staff bowled us over.

The staff at the ancient House were...
The staff at the ancient House were friendly and helpfull. I think the rooms would benefit from having ceiling fans fitted to rooms and windows that you can open to improve the air flow and reduce the need to use the air conditioning.

Generally an extremely pleasant place to stay, ideal for a relaxing time and peace and quiet. A little bit far out from the old town, so you need to either walk (a lovely 15 mins) or get a taxi. There is a shuttle service but it ony goes a few times a day. They have a great private area of the beach with a free bus service to there too. The breakfast is ample and fresh. They do a airport transfer for about 18USD but you can find cheaper if you ask around town. Everybody was friendly and helpful, it was very clean and the rooms were definitely large enough if a little dimly lit (ideal for romance, not for finding stuff in the depths of your bag). Very very good value for money; I would definitely expect to pay 40% more for a place of this quality so make the most of it.

This is a lovely hotel and I have no major complaints. Minor things like 'no-blackout curtains' and that it is a tad far from town. In the heat, walking to town is out of the option. Price-wise, it is not that cheap taking into account the prices of things in Hoi An.

Ideally located in Hoi An just a...
Ideally located in Hoi An just a 3-5 minute drive (free shuttle bus or around $2 in taxi) to the main part of this beautiful town. The hotel service left us speechless, the staff were so friendly and nothing was a problem. The standards were very high and every need was met, the extra touches like having staff give you a cold face towel to refresh anytime you returned throughout the day, the welcome pineapple juice upon arrival or in our case the extra early check in at 6am and a free breakfast that day truly made this an exceptional experience. Rooms are comfortable and within the resorts theme of sparse decor highlighted by beautiful timber and ambient rooms of white netting over the beds and slate flooring just made the experience more authentic than a traditionally decorated hotel room. The free shuttle to the affiliated beach resort to enjoy the private beach with free chairs & umbrella for Ancient House guests was a delightful change in scenery. I would not go past this hotel for AMAZING value and true 5 star service on a 3 star price.. Thanks Ancient House, see you next visit.

The hotel is delightful, beautifully laid out...
The hotel is delightful, beautifully laid out in a lovely garden. The service was efficient and friendly. The only criticism is that the room was on the ground floor and damp, probably as a result of the flood four weeks before. I was impossible to get rid of the smell of dampness.
