Stayed 9 nights at Lotus hotel. Very...
Stayed 9 nights at Lotus hotel. Very clean, daily service to the room done with detail. Pool lovely and private at back of hotel. Excellent breakfast but get there early if the hotel is busy! Rooms average size with nice big balcony. Hot water all the time. All staff very helpful, bar staff/waiters particularly friendly and jolly. TV usual asia channels - HBO, Star Movies etc. Minibar just had non-alcoholic drinks, no snacks. Restaurant menu and food not great, didn't have what we ordered 2 days running, but plenty of restaurants close by. 2km to Cua Dai beach, 6km to An Bang beach (less touristy, big waves), 2/3 km to Hoi An town, shuttle bus service from hotel is very reliable and comfortable. A very welcoming hotel with majority older guests, nice sociable bar area with pool table and internet. Would definately stay there again.

This hotel was quite nice, very friendly...
This hotel was quite nice, very friendly & helpful staff that would bend over backwards to help you. Hotel is quite away from town area but in a good quite & peaceful location with a good restuarant next door, breakfasts were terrific & heaps of food. Doubtful if we got the room we paid for,although room was quite nice & clean but did expect a little better. Would stay there again & also would recommend but no for older people who have problems using stairs.

We really loved this hotel...the grounds were...
We really loved this hotel...the grounds were beautiful and the spa was fantastic. It's fairly close to both the town center and the beach; we rented bikes for $1 US and biked all over town. The room was a bit small but otherwise everything was really great.

Room was shabby. Location wasn't so convenient...
Room was shabby. Location wasn't so convenient to reach both beach and old town. Breakfast was served till 9:30(eneded too early)am and only for the first night they provided two bottles of water.

The staff were pleasant and willing to...
The staff were pleasant and willing to help, but had difficulty at times making any of the staff understand. Would be helpful if one person on duty was fluent in English. Rang after we left the hotel as I'd lost my glasses and thought it was in the lobby. No-one could understand my question. Was a pair of dark red framed reading glasses found in a grey hard case? We were unaware that breakfast was included in the tarrif.

We did enjoy staying in this hotel...
We did enjoy staying in this hotel because it was lovely, quiet and the room looked good. The breakfast was fine too and the swimming was pretty warm. Too bad that they never turn on its lights on the evening ! The only "shadows" are that we asked for soaps and shampoo and for the free water bottles. It was replied to us that it was ony given the arrival day !!! We only stayed 2 nights but we would have been Very Upset staying longer => It is a pity because we really liked this hotel (why a such answer) !!! Also, we were quite far from the center city (however with a bicycle or a motorbike, rent next door, cheapest !) we didn't mind. I do recommend this hotel as long as they take good care of the room during the WHOLE stay. I also recommend the N°33 Restaurant which is on the routard guide and near to the hotel :o))

A nice hotel at a reasonable price....
A nice hotel at a reasonable price. We had a superior room and was excellent. It's about 3km from the township. You can hire a motor bike next door for US$4 per day.

The hotel was very clean and beautiful. It has its own swimming pool and salon (treatments are quite good). The rooms were lovely and clean and room service is available for most of the day. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was ok (breakfast consisted of a few fruits, yoghurt, breads, eggs, nooles and soup and a collection of meats)but wouldnt recommend a meal there. There is a free minibus that goes from the hotel to the old town and beach (different directions)but the timings are a little odd so you can hire a bike for the day (USD 4)and cycle to the old town or the beach. All in all a very good service.

For travellors who are more interested in...
For travellors who are more interested in the ancient town, I will recommend that they stay at the riverside hotels because Hoi An Lotus is located nearer to the beach. There are daily shuttle buses so moviequires one to stick to the set schedules. Hotel reception was fine and the counter staff helpful. We had to check out in the early morning and there were arrangements for us to have breakfast earlier by half an hour. My family have booked for triple Deluxe and I really feel that we are just paying for some extra space and nothing more. A standard room might be a better value. The room smelt musty and the aircon remote control did not work very well. The air conditioner seemed to require some maintenance as the air felt stale and the temperature at a perpetual 28 deg Celsius even after adjusting to a lower temperature. The pool was pleasant but not suitable for small children as it was not tended by life guard.
