3/5  Posted by MR. ROSANDER, Lars, Sweden in April 2008
"Not very nice surroundings. However,we appreciated the view over Acropolis from our room. The pool floor with its restaurant was not open in April as it was said. That was also promised in the pamphlet in the hotel room. A big disappointment as we had been looking forward to relax in the open air by the poolside and have a snack. There were just two hangers in the closet and when we asked for more we got some hangers made of wire. One of several details that is not very classy for a 5 star hotel. The breakfast was nice although we missed the omelette chef that we have found in other 4-5 stars hotels. The room was clean and it was very fast made up. Please notice that our review is built on the fact that this hotel is classified being a 5 star hotel. It is not fair to other hotels with 5 stars to give The Imperial that class."

"The Hotel is nice, check-in so easy. Room big and clean. Amenities good. It's really worthed compare with the price."

" We just ended a week s stay. The hotel is warm, charming , excellently located and reasonably priced. The staff is sweet n helpful... The room is a bit small but comfortable and the AC works. Unfortunately our balcony didn't have Acropolis view, some have. The breakfast was good and the welcoming drink is a good idea! The hotel is right in the center of the city just a few steps from Syntagma Square and a frog leap from Plaka, the Acropolis and all the other attraction points. The Price very reasonable for the perfect location. "

" I was pleasantly surprised by how nice everything was. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Imperial after staying at various hotels during our 2-week vacation. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice everything was. The room was a good size and was very clean, with all the amenities. The beds were super comfy, futon-like. The breakfasts were also very good (which isn't always the case in European hotels). The breakfast is a buffet; everyday the same stuff, but enough choice. We brilliant recommend here. "

" I stayed here for 5 nights in March 2004 and while I found it to be comfortable and well located for exploring the area around the Acropolis. My room had a view of the Parthenon, but was right next to a school yard full of screaming kids. There are lots of shopping percents to explore and excellent bakeries on ever corner. A payphone outside the hotel takes calling cards available from the nearby magazine stand, in case you decide to call home and don't want to pay high hotel charges. I recommend this hotel, but ask for a quiet room in advance."

"We are delighted with our choice of hotel and have quite possibly found a new "home" in Athens City. This quietly elegant hotel, the building is wonderful, the service extremely helpful and the location is great. The rooms - we stayed in a  room - are gorgeous. Spacious, cool, fantastic beds and linen, marvellous bathrooms. Good location too, surrounded by good shopping. Can't recommend highly enough."

"Great Hotel with a excellent location. Its a very clean hotel, beautifuly decorated and the rooms are very spacious.  A little on the pricey side for a room without a balcony. Staff is very helpful and friendly. We recommend this hotel if you wanna go to Athens. "

" We stayed at the Imperial for two weeks in May 2004, we straight away loved the beautiful, peaceful location which in our opinion, is far nicer than the impression you get from the holiday brochures, after the always superb evening meal it was a delight to walk out, and take in the beautiful peace and tranquility of this wonderful heavenly place. The hotel itself is in our opinion, it is a Great hotel we have visited, absolutely wonderful, the rooms are comfortable, the food is brilliant with excellent variety, and the standard of service and attention to the needs of the guests exceeds almost all other hotels we have stayed in abroad over the years. Having raved about this place, it must be said that the location is most suitable for people who enjoy peace and natural beauty, rather than loads of nightlife etc. We intend to holiday at the Imperial again in 2005, we can"t wait!!"

" I visited the Imperial last month (May 2004) with my family on our first trip to Athens. The hotel looked promising from the details in the brochure & it did not disappoint. In fact it was better than the brochure! The Room is comfortable & stylish. The sheets were changed every day & the hotel as a whole was almost spotless. The furnishings are classy & the views wonderful. We went at the height of the season & the hotel was full but the only time it felt busy was at dinner when there was a bit of a scrum around the main course section of the buffet. Other than that, the Imperial does not feel like a big hotel. The facilities were very good. Our 3 children (ages 10 - 15) did not get bored. The swimming pool is huge, clean and only approx. 1.5m at its deepest, so relatively safe as well. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. Dinner was usually very good, plenty of choice & of a very high standard. Overall, the holiday was great. We all want to go back there next year & that has never happened before. The hotel was lovely, very quiet & relaxing. I would recommend it to anyone."

" This hotel is just such good value for money, its amazing !!! We stayed for four nights in Jun 2004 and it was superb......hugh rooms with king size beds and baths. We stayed on a room only basis but the breakfast in the hotel was good and cheap as much as you could eat with tons of choices. The facilities were excellent and the staff extremely helpful too. Can’t say a bad word about this hotel - would recommend it to anyone !!!!"
