| "we stayed at the Excelsior for 4 nights in June 2008. The best thing about the hotel was its location in causeway bay.It was a great location for shopping and access to MTR and trams. The room was clean with good facilities. Our only complaint was that the room was tiny but apparently this is the norm in Hong Kong. Service at the hotel was good and concierge was quite helpful for providing tourist information. Because of its location or perhaps reputation, the Excelsior is well known in the area and the taxi drivers knew exactly where to take us. I would recommend staying there if you are not too concerned about the size of the room.

| "It is the perfect location in Causeway Bay at Hong Kong Island. My office is close by and the there are lots of restaurants to choose from. Good for shopping and convenient for all public transport. Always stay here for both my business and leisure trips. Good for value." |

| "Found hotel service to be very good and the location to the star ferry although requiring a 10 minute walk was quite acceptable, other than having to walk pass the rubbish transfer facility.
The staff and food at the restaurant at the hotel were both excellent and would definitely consider staying at this hotel again." |

| "Overall pretty impressed with this hotel, we had a swift check in and the room was nicely layed out upon arrival. The pool area was fairly small for the size of the hotel but that said it was never over crowded. Location was pretty good, just a stones throw from the JW Marriott and getting around the Bangkok in Taxi's and tuk tuk's is dirt cheap anyway. There are obviously much cheaper places to stay in Bangkok but its definately worth staying somewhere half decent, you'll really apreciate a clean air conditioned room after a day wandering around in the city smog. Overall i'd recommend the hotel to any non-backpackers" |

| "We stayed there for three nights on the way back from New Zealand, and were extremely happy with all aspects of the hotel.
We were on the 21st floor and had amazing views of the harbour as requested.
All staff were extremely courteous and helpful.
I would recommend The Excelsior to anyone." |

| "room needs to be renovated immediately; carpet, furniture, beds are old and very dated. bathroom is old and not very clean, shower curtain had brown sticky stains on it and it was never cleaned, also bathtub was mouldy. iron was leaking. room is small. not a four star hotel at all based on hotel room i would say it is more like 2-3 star.hotel location is excellent close to shopping and mtr (not even 5min walk)excellent restaurant on top floor (tots) nice cafe in hotel. buffet is ok. service from staff is very good. | "Hotel is located in a good location on Hong Kong Harbor view. Convenient to get around via MTR nearby. Food is a bit pricey everywhere and not that fantastic. To extend your "day-use" or "late checkout" room charges should be arranged when you first make booking as the hotel will charge you more expensive than whatever the rate you paid with travel agent. Restaurant in World Trade Center nearby overlooking Hong Kong Harbor will charge for "a room with the view" extra £5 per person without telling you first. They will appear on the bill. The quality of the bath towels could be better as I would expected from Mandarin Oriental hotel group. No spare toilet rolls in the bathroom unless you ask for it. Just some small things which they miss for this kind of hotel standard. If I paid for a travel Lodge I would not complain like this." |
