| "I was given a twin-bed room, though I had paid only for a single-bed room. The room size was all right, and so was its cleanliness. The hotel staff are polite and helpful. Please note that you'll need to pay a refundable deposit of HKD300 upon check-in, something I didn't know until arrival.
There isn't much of a view from the hotel, but the location is quite good, as it's only a few minutes' walk from the Wan Chai MTR and very near Pacific Place in Admiralty. There are also convenience stores and eating places within a stone's throw of the hotel.
That said, the somewhat seedy Lockhart Road and its bars are right behind the hotel, and late at night, there'd be groups of women hanging around the street. Overall though, I didn't feel unsafe walking around at night (I'm male).
Generally, the hotel is quite good value for money, it being on Hong Kong Island; I might stay there again in my next visit.

| "Very nice, modern lobby. The staff were super friendly & helpful. Very clean, rooms; a bite small, but for 2 people, should be fine. Not suited for families though. Overall, pleasant stay and would recommend to anyone looking for a convenient location and restaurants all around. The MTR station is just a couple of blocks walking distance. Can't beat that!" |

| "Did not realise the rating I gave was upon 10. I would give New Harbour 9 for service, 6 for rooms, 8 for location. And Wesley 5 for the newer rooms." |

| "Stayed at New Harbour hotel for 3 nites after 3 nites at the Wesley during the Rugby Sevens weekend. The room is smaller and older than the Wesley BUT the service is far better. The counter staff here smiled, and and the attentive managers helped with luggage up the 3 steps to get to the lift lobby (strange layout). When I checked out, they also helped with the luggage. In contrast, the counter staff at the Wesley was rude and unprofessional. My husband had arrived in HK earlier for a conference and I joined him only 2 days later, despite my husband telling the counter staff to expect me at noon and let me in the room, when I asked the counter staff, he said there was no message. It took a phonecall from my husband on MY HANDPHONE to convince him to check. Guess what? He found the reminder. When I asked, so was there a reminder? He just THREW the room key on the counter for an answer. Wordlessly. Stay at the New Harbour, the location is a much shorter walk to WanChai station. I wrote this review because of the friendly service at this hotel. Thanks guys, keep it up:)" |
