5/5  Posted by DR. DANIEL ZOLTAN, Kadar, Hungary in July 2008
"This is a wonderful place, I can only recommend it to everyone. The location of the hotel is excellent, the rooms are large, and last but not least the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I especially recommend it to those who travel with their families (like me)."

"Located just a 5 minute walk from Times Square, South Pacific is a convenient stay for the budget traveller. It may not be the best hotel, being old and not very well-maintained, but the close proximity to the MTR station made staying there worth it. We were quite upset that our bathroom wasn't in such a good condition and that the room was very small. Our luggages almost filled up 1/3 of the room! Traffic is heavy around the hotel and there is a wet market just on the next street. Also, we thought that crossing the small, busy streets to get to Times Square might be a challenge for families with young kids and the elderly. On the whole, this is an average hotel located in a central area for the budget traveller."

"the hotel is pretty good, decent location, friendly staff, but if you're a non-smoker beware!! there are very limited non-smoking floors and the smoking floors (and rooms) smell of smoke. you can ask housekeeping to freshen up your room though. bathroom comes with soap in a dispenser, and no shampoo. "

"Extremely good location! Friendly staff and reasonable price."

"Perfect location if shopping is your main hongkong activity. Rooms are quite nice albeit small, but good enough for Hongkong standards. Service staff is surprisingly above par. Every time we call housekeeping for our concerns, they attend to it pronto. Overall, can't say anything bad, am actually pleased. Will definitely recommend and stay if we find ourselves in Hongkong again."

"Weather in Hong Kong not great and hotel rooms cold. Staff not very friendly except at breakfast. No rooms with double beds available. No bus to station available despite being advertised. Views from rooms good. Roof top bar pricey with loud music but great views."

"The hotel's location is good as it's near Times Square and the MRT. The hotel itself made a good first impression and the room was better than what I expected. Nonetheless, the pricing is rather steep with the year end peak season."

"I DON'T LIKE STANDART ROOM. "
4/5  Posted by MS. LUMAIN, Jenny, Philippines in August 2007
"Great hotel especially the location! Times square is about three streets away so one can shop, rest and shop again! The Wan Chai station ( connected to Times Square) is convenient if you have to travel to other location. Very good hotel especially during rainy season. When I was there, they declared a "holiday" (meaning: no work for all) due to typhoon. The fact that the hotel is near Times Square, it was convenient for me to just walk back to the hotel. I would recommend this to everyone."

"In comparison to the many hotels i've stayed in, South Pacific is probably the best yet. The room is bigger than i expected - got a queen size bed and enough space to put down 2 pieces of luggage! The bathroom is still small like most hotels, but it is clean. The only grouse that i have is that the free bus shuttle to/fro the hotel & HK Station only runs in the morning. Please improve on this. On the whole, our stay here has been good."
