I stayed at the Dorsett Seaview for 3 nights from May 31st until June 2nd. The hotel was located within walking distance of Salisbury Road and the harbour promenade. The staff were friendly and knowledgable of the area. That is the positive elements of the hotel, but unfortunately they are far outweighed by the negative aspects. The room was about the same size as a prison cell. I couldn't close the bathroom door whilst I was standing in the bathroom, unless I stood in the bathtub. There was no place to put your bags except on the floor and then you had to walk over them to get to the door. Between the bed and the wall was a space of about 2 feet, that was it. The curtains and furnishings are antiquated and seriouly need renewing. I was extremely disappointed with the room. The hotel doesn't offer a great deal regarding facilities, but they do state this. They have nil facilities for the guests, save a restaurant and tour desk, per say. I would not recommend the Dorsett Seaview for those that are traveling with friends or family. There is an abundance of hotels around the Dorsett that offer much more for a similar price.

| "The lobby manager by the name of Tomy is very friendly and helpful. He always puts on a smile and is very patient in listening to queries and gave very good advice. The reception and cashier counter staff are not as helpful as Tomy. They are rather impatient and not very willing to listen and help.
I might now stay at this hotel again because there isn't any shopping around the area and it's at the corner angle of the road with a lot of very unpleasant people walking around. Besides the nearest MTR station is not that near to the hotel. But if you're a budget traveller then you can consider this hotel." |
