We stayed in HK for 5 days and chose the empire kowloon, the staff where great, polite, friendly and very helpfull. The hotel was well presented, very clean & comfortable. most of the reviews on this hotel say the rooms are small, and yes they are however your there to experience HK & all it has to offer so dont worry about the size of them (just look outside & see the size of the apartments the people live in & then you will be quite happy on the size of the rooms). there was enough room for both myself and my partner plus our bags. the room was made up every day & the bathroom facilities where great, very clean and well maintained which i must confess i am very fussy on when travelling. the location of this hotel was also great, 5min walk to Tsim Sha Tsui train station to catch the trains anywhere in HK & about 10min walk down Nathan road to the promenade. ( just get used to saying no alot to the Indian taylors)(their lovely though they just want you to buy a suit, or coat, or watch, or handbag, or pair of jocks or just anything off them) Breakfasts at the empire kowloon is also well worth paying the extra, great selection. HK is a little bit more expensive to stay in than other countrys in Asia like Malaysia, Thailand, Bali (ect) but the empire kowloon is great value for money in a great location close to everything, great facilities & fantastic service plus a great pool which we had all to our selves most days to cool off in from those 35 degree & 90%+ humidity days. if we return to HK we will stay at the empire kowloon again.

| "Checked in on the 13th of march, service was pretty fast with confirmation given in about 5 minutes. room given however was not the same as was required- douoble twin. was given one wueen bed instead. went down to the reception and was immediately given the room we wanted on the same floor as the wrong room which made moving from one room to the other very fast and easy. Room however was very small, no way you can walk around with ease but it fitted 4 people well enough. called reception for extra towels and service was very very fast. However, communication proved to be a slight problem when i called for an extra mattress, they came up with a box of matches. Overall, service was very fast and efficient and will definitely recommend it to budget travellers. " |

| "Room as a suite, and plenty big enough. Well appointed - TV in lounge and bedroom, bar fridge, internet connection, etc. Had issues with the light switches in bed room and bathroom, took a while to get the right lights on! Wardrobe was tiny and inadequate. Location is 10-15 minutes walk from the ferry wharves. Lots of shopping near by. Reception Staff spoke reasonably good English, had problems at the bar in getting understood and actually getting the bar snacks we ordered - gave up one night and followed up on another.
