Evergreen is a budget hotel that is in a good location, has friendly staff and small but adequate room size. From the airport, I took the train to Kowloon and then HK$20 for a taxi. I paid US$60/night for a single and felt it was a good value, especially for HK. This price included a very good full breakfast. The room furnishings are old but the room was clean. I carried all my valuables with me around HK as there was no room safe and the door lock was only a push button in the handle which provided minimal security. The bathroom was OK but the shower/tub was very small and the shower head needed replacement. The only ventilation in the bath room was a window exhaust fan that pulled the room's limited air conditioning through the bath and out the window. Making sure the fan was off and the door closed was the only way to keep the room cool. When I first arrived, the window fan was on and the room was very warm. Took a couple hours to cool the room. The room air/con could use a boost. The double bed is more like a 1+ 1/2 single bed. My room was at the end of the hallway and facing the back of the hotel so it was quiet. As I was traveling alone and only for one night, Evergreen was OK and worth US$60, no more. If I was staying longer or my wife was with me, I would choose to pay $25+- more and get a nicer hotel.

"Room was small but adequate. Location was excellent if you want to shop on Temple Street, Nathan Street or Jordon Street. Short walk to other major shopping streets, say, in the Mong Kok district. Transportation was excellent to Hong Kong Island and even ferries to Mainland China/Macau. Staff was excellent and provided any assistance requested. The business office was also very efficient in confirming airline reservations. A very fine touch was FREE and fast computer and internet access 24/7. Also had FREE laundry facilities. This is something you won't find often."

"The rooms were tiny but clean and comfortable. For the price it was great. Unfortunately due to flight delays we weren't able to make the first night out of our 2. We tried to call to change the resevation the day before but kept being sent to different numbers in Hong Kong and Thailand to change the booking. In the end by the time I got through it was too late and the cancellation charge had to be paid. This was fine as the booking was cheap enough - but we weren't able to extend our stay for another night which was a shame."

"Lots of staff on the reception desk but none seemed to know of or care much about customer service. Room was very, very small and if you get one of the street side be prepared for a long sleepless night. Breakfast was mostly Chinese, but the Western food attempted was half-cooked or cold. We changed rooms for our second night and were refused additional pillows (apparently there were none spare in the hotel) and only got some when we had asked a house-keeper on a different shift. So unhappy with this hotel that we checked out early and stayed elsewhere."

"Great location in an authentic area, next to airport bus stop on Nathan street, easy access everywhere. No view from room, modest room, but very clean & includes internet (own laptop needed). Tiny breakfast room, modest breakfast. Friendly service. "

"The location is great, its particularly in downtown area, few steps and you can see the stalls for night market. Restaurants are just beside. Staff's are great! thanks"
