Hotel Review posted by Christine & John McCormick, United Kingdom in October 2005

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Langham Place Hotel. Although it's location is further out that we would have preferred, the MTR system made access to the Island so easy it proved not to be a problem. The hotel was superb, although aimed at the Business market rather than tourists. The restaurants were very good, although things like soft drinks did prove to be a little expensive. Unfortunately we had a few problems with our room - leaking window during the Typhoon Level 3 that was in place, but the housekeeping staff kindly provided towels to mop up the water. We also had a drawer that would not stay closed and had to be wedged with a chunk of paper. If I were visiting Hong Kong again for a short stay en route to another location I would not hesitate to stay at the Langham Place.
The staff were very helpful at all times and we enjoyed our stay very much.

"Please don't take this as a bad review, even when the star rating seems quite low. The service staff are one of the better ones that I have come across in HK. The concierge all speak good English and are very helpful, one of them even remembered that we wanted to get to the "seafood" market and marked out our itinerary for the day to reach our destination. Checking in was a little slow - the room was not ready, and it was not ready until past 4pm. We had small children so this was not ideal. It was raining outside and we were tired. However, we perked up when we saw the pool - it was very very lovely - the water was warm and clean. The showers and facilities in the spa were pretty impressive too. My only problem was the size of the bedroom. It was really small, and much smaller than I had expected from the photo gallery on the Internet. However, I must remember that this is HK, space is limited. Having always stayed at the Shangrila where the rooms are large, I was not quite ready for such a small room particularly with small children. The location of Mong Kok was another issue. It was convenient in that it had everything - from markets, to chain stores to foods to cinemas. But it is one of the most crowded residential areas in HK - and with the rainy weather, the shoving and pushing of crowd when we get out of the hotel was quite harrowing. Again, this is not the fault of the hotel. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay. If we can transplant the hotel to say, TST or Wanchai - I would definitely stay there on a business trip or if I were travelling with just my husband. "

"The location is excellent, very near to MTR and is walking distance to the major markets like ladies market and temple market. The hotel staff were all very attentive and polite. The room was very clean, especially the bathroom, very well equipped too. I will seriously consider my next stay at Langham Place."

"After our 6 week european holiday we needed a 3 day break before heading back to Australia. Langham Place was perfect. Every staff member welcomed us and continually greeted us. Great location to train and shops. Since we organized our whole holiday on line, we found AsiaRooms were by far the cheapest price. thankyou"
