The best part of this hotel is the reception area, its all downhill after that. I got a booked a deluxe room, and I too found the room smelling musty and that was due to the quality of the air being output by the air conditioning system... not a good sign in my book. The room I got was largish but that was its only plus point, all the furniture features and furnishings were outdated and tired looking. In serious need of an update and revamp if it is to compete with other hotels. No gym or pool of its own , you have to go to its sibling hotels adjacent. No internet terminal in the room as suggested, only internet access via an ethernet connection. Inernet day rates were double hourly rates which made no sense.
I was vexed at check-in, I had all the correct information from my prepaid reservation. The staff said no deluxe rooms were available and that I would have to pay surcharge to have be upgraded to a better room. I said that I had made a reservation which was confirmed by themselves, if they had no deluxe rooms available then I should rightly get a better room without paying any surcharge. Then miraculously after checking her computer system again, deluxe rooms became available. Yeah right! I do not appreciate this type of attempted manipulation.
Also my taxi would not drop me off at the front entrance and I had to drag my lauggage across a shopping arcade.
Overall it was disappointing.

| "Gateway has been my second home every time i / we visit Hong Kong. I love their bed, pillow and blanket. Clean room & bathroom too. Accessible to shopping areas, MTR stations. Safe location & Outside view has been always pleasing to my eyes. We stayed in the 14th floor this time and the room was newly renovated.
This was my first time to avail service from asiarooms and I am satisfied.
I would definitely go back to Gateway and avail asiaroom's service in one of my next visit to Hong Kong.
