Hotel Review posted by Bill Norton, United States of America in March 2003

For those who are unfamiliar with the Peninsula Hong Kong, this was the first luxury hotel in the territory and is world famous for its gourmet cuisine. It is still at the forefront of elegance, style and comfort. Rooms are very cosy with all the trimmings, although some rooms cannot take extra beds as the furniture would get in the way. Connecting rooms are available but are in high demand so book in advance. When it comes to facilities, the luxury Peninsula has it all, including a heli-pad and transit lounge on the roof. Guests can choose from a range of top quality outlets catering for casual dining to silver service. Hong Kong's most famous hotel is certainly worth it for those special occasions but be prepared to pay high price.

"A classic hotel with classic service. The afternoon high tea is rightly renowned (as as a resident you can book, so no queuing!). However the other facilities and services are equalled or bettered by cheaper "executive club" floors in places like the Renaissance and Shangri La"

"After a long flight from the US, we were warmly greeted by the wonderful staff. I have been speaking highly of the Peninsula to my husband for years and I am happy to say, he was not disappointed. Since we only had one night to enjoy Hong Kong, we wanted to do it up right !! We arrived in time to have dinner at Felix....the view, the service and the food were outstanding."

"From the moment we exited the Aircraft it was first class all the way. Note: you must make sure the hotel knows your flight details (date/time)of arrival for hotel pickup (Rolls Royce)require transport to the hotel. What a way to start off a holiday. On arrivl at the hotel you are spoilt. Relaxing in the gym, swimming pool wet and dry sauna and hot plunge pool makes a great end to all your hectic days in Hong Kong. This was our third stay at the Pen and my family look forward to retuning in 2009. Robert & Masae Hutchison Banora Point NSW Australia."
