A friend of mine and I stayed at the Royal Garden Hotel in Hong Kong in early December 2005. We stayed at the hotel for five nights. The Royal Garden is a very nice hotel. It's well maintained and the staff is excellent. It is also in a great location. I rarely, if ever, stay at non-Marriott hotels, so I was somewhat hesitant to stay at the Royal Garden. But I must admit that the Royal Garden did not disappoint me at all. From the outside, the hotel doesn't look like anything special, but the inside is a completely different story. During our stay, the Royal Garden had holiday decorations throughout much of the hotel, and it was very nice. A very cool decoration was the use of real cookies and gingerbread on the outside of the bakery in the hotel.
The location of the hotel couldn't be better. There are MTR stations within an easy walk, and restaurants and stores are all nearby. Our favorite restaurant was Fook Yuen, just across the street from the Royal Garden. Fook Yuen had, by far, the best dim sum I have ever had. Additionally there are many tourist destinations closeby. There are also plenty of "saunas." And if you're walking around the hotel late at night, prostitutes abound and are somewhat aggressive, though not troublesome at all.
I am a big fan of the Royal Garden. I can't wait to go back!

| "I will always make this my first choice in any future trips to Hong Kong. The location is perfect.
The only thing I thought was slightly poor was your refusal to let us use the pool with out paying extra on our return visit. Since this was not the case the first time we booked, when we returned and were told this we felt a little miffed. In fact we didn't use the pool either time so really wondered was it worth creating that bad impression." |

| "This hotel is worth the price. The location is very good for visiting Hong Kong. The staff is very friendly.
The buffet dinner is marvelous. My wife and I travel a lot and this is definitely one the the best dinner buffet we had,
if not the best ever.

| "We were delighted with The Royal Garden. At the price we paid, we were not expecting much, so it was a wonderful surprise. The entire complex is lovely and clean. The concierge was extremely helpful and efficient, and the housekeeping staff, once they were used to us, took care of our needs without our having to ask for anything. We thought the hotel breakfast was too expensive for what we eat, but it was good. Our room was wonderful with a perfect view of Hong Kong." |
