Hotel Review posted by Phil, Thailand in July 2005

We had mixed feelings about the Knutsford hotel. The rooms were ok, although we were stuck with smoking rooms for the entire four nights we stayed there. The staff said there were no non-smoking rooms available. We booked around 2 months in advance using asiarooms.com, but that didn't seem to give us any priority. They were kind enough to upgrade us to a Deluxe smoking room however. I would have to agree that some of the staff were not very friendly or nice, others were ok though. The hotel does seem to have good location and it was very easy to take the airport express train and then the free shuttle to go right to the hotel. The price was great, so all in all we are pleased. Asiarooms.com seems to get a significant discount from the posted price that the Knutsford Hotel has on their website and at their front desk. I would recommend using asiarooms.com, we had no problem with their service.

"The overall stay was good despite one major hiccup which fortunately resulted in a decent stay for me. Upon check-in I was given access to a room which still had its occupants staying! A clear case of overbooking rooms or hotel guests who refused to leave their rooms after checkout! Either way, I got bumped to a suite which was not bad considering the size and price I paid. "

"I loved the luxe manor- all the little design details made it a stand-out experience for me. I was staying by myself, but would take my partner there to stay next time I am in HK. I wish I needed to stay longer, just to take it all in, and make use of the facilities. The area is so convenient- close to the MTR and to KNutsford Terrace, perfect at night for a stroll, or dinner. Everyone was lovely and helpful, and so professional. I can't wait to go back and stay again!"

"Beautiful place in a great location, with Knutsford Terrace just behind the hotel. Cocktails and food from hotel restaurant were also delicious. We stayed there for 5 nights with a baby. The hotel was very accomodating and staff very helpful. However, we stayed in a deluxe room and it was very cramped with a baby cot. Definitely would go there again for a romantic break/travelling alone or in a couple, but not really a family hotel. "

"The hotel service staff provided poor service, rather unprofessional and unfriendly. The hotel room was rather small, typical of HK's hotel room but the queen size bed was way too small to accomodate 2 adults. In fact, it was a bit misleading from the picture that was posted on the Asia Room's website. The picture featured a big room, king size bed etc. But in fact, the room package that we signed up with is for the standard room which is much smaller in size. For the superior room, an additional HKD250 per night must be top up."

"The room is very artistically decorated and clean. Designer of the hotel has done a good job with the detailing make the stay very memorable. The overall of standard and quality is great except personally I think the gym is too small. I will definately stay there again. Keep it up."
