I have never been quite so impressed with a hotel as I was with this one. The harbour view room wasn't available when we checked in at 9pm, so we were upgraded to a harbour view suite. It had everything I could want: clean rooms, fresh fruit, excellent selection of magazines, television available in both Japanese and English (good because we are a Japanese/ Canadian couple), a bed which is larger than our Japanese apartment, an excellent location, and two beautiful views of the harbour. We didn't need to leave the room to enjoy Hong Kong!
When we did decide to leave to explore, the concierge was quite helpful, and the location made it easy to explore quite a few places in a small time frame. Our breakfast the next morning was excellent - a buffet with an excellent mix of western and eastern food.
Any time we go back to Hong Kong, we will stay at the YMCA Salisbury, and will definitely choose to stay in the Harbour View Suite. They have earned our respect.

| "I picked YMCA Salisbury after reading the other great reviews and the location. Location is right close to TST station. Hong Kong has a great subway/train system. Thats all we used to get around the city. Once we got off the plane, simply buy an airport express pass for 300hkd. This will give you a round trip transportation from the airport to the hotel and unlimited use of their MTR train system. Also add about 100HKD to the airport pass and you can use the bus and ferry systems as well. The added amount on the airport express ticket can be used for the tram to the "Peak" as well. The hotel is very clean and the rooms were large as well. We also had a complimentary upgrade to a harbor view room. Thanx Asia rooms for your assistance. " |
