| "This was my third stay at Silvermine Beach Hotel, its true to say its in need of updating and if this happens it would be a first class hotel.Everything about the Hotel is great , fantastic location and friendly staff and last but not least the price. We paid £20 per person /night great value.
I would recomend staying at this hotel and using Asia Rooms to anyone" |

| "We found it run down.In need of refurbishment.rooms were a little musty.
Location is quite nice looking out over the bay.
No vehicle access to front entrance was a bit of a downside. Also no lift made it difficult when carrying large luggage. However a quaint place which has potential.
I believe it is too expensive.
Regards

| "Reasonable hotel, a little run down. Beware that when booking online you cannot chose if you want a twin or a double room. When we arrived they had no double rooms left and we were forced to upgrade and pay the difference." |

| "The hotel is in a wonderful location right on the beach. The staff are friendly and pleasant. The hotel is in bad need of a make-over. The bath tub had a black mold growing in the tile grout.
I love the setting. It is not too far from the airport and would make a perfect hotel for transit passengers who have to stay near the airport. The hotel is quaint and charming but really needs to be renovated to capture the traveling crowd it deserves to have." |

| "I think this is a lovely hotel. The hotel itself was excellent and, for HK, very good value. We were upgraded to the new wing as we had booked for 3 nights which was nice.
Staff were all very nice and helpful, breakfast was fine and there is a bar. Broadband access in rooms (pity they charge - pet hate of mine) and good TV for the kids.
The location is also excellent. A bicycle-populated, minimal traffic, small village one a beach (average but no beaches are great in the region as tides are low and the water is murky from the river silt) with a load of nice restaurants and a 40 minute ferry ride from Central HK. An excellent place to experience HK but to chill out as well.
The natural parks of Lantau are a short distance away with good hiking and boats can be hired.
Good hotel, good holiday place.
My ONLY complaint would be that the temperature of the pool was far too high. Eco-unfreindly and not refreshing - but that is the only quibble and a minor one." |

| "We stayed in the old wing section, the room really old and urgently need upgrading. In my opinion, it is not value for money in comparison with what we expected for the price we pay." |

| "I feel sure the new wing of the hotel is great but it is very expensive £100 per night. We stayed in the main building with a Sea View at £77 per night - the view made the whole thing worthwhile but we were in Room 1038 which is the best view of the sea, sandy beech and lovely bay and mountains - some of the sea facing rooms have trees in front of them as we found out when we returned to the venue and were allocated another room with a sea view. The bedrooms we saw were in poor decorative order and therefore did not appear to be very clean the same with the bathroom also the linen is very worn and gives the impression of not being very clean although it is. However, the staff were lovely, the food excellent, swimming pool and fitness suite good and the location is perfect for exploring Lantau and Hong Kong. No lift in main building. The Hotel needs a good Manager to knock it into shape and set about a programme of redecoration and the purchase of new linen. There is an IKEA now on Hong Kong Island so no excuses. Very overpriced for what it is, but no competition as is the only "decent" hotel in this lovely location!! " |
