Forrest Hotel is near the parliment house, questacon and super market (10min drive). Location wise, good...
The receptionist, Jodie, was a great help as I picked up the flyers on the places of interest. Many of them do not hv list the entrance fees and Jodie checked them all out for me and also made some recommendations. Cockington Gardens, which I feel is a must-see in Caberra, was her recommendations. (great for children to go, there's trains to play!)
Room wise, not that good.. as it's not fully carpeted (it's really cold in canberra). Toilet is a little old but room is spacious enough, to hv 2 chairs and a table. There's 2 side table and a dressing table. Tea, coffee and cookie were replenished daily (something that I can't say for another hotel that I stayed).
Not too good for old people (as my elderly parents were with me) as they've to climb up the stairs (Shld hv requested for a unit on the ground floor). Ample parking.

Really happy with room, staff were extremely helpful. Would definitely stay there again. The only negative, I thought the bed was too firm.

I booked this hotel because I was given the impression that it was close to the city, IT WAS NOT!
The restaurant was closed from the Friday I was there, so i had to walk a fair bit to Manuka Town which was actually nice, but once night came and I decided to stay it, there was absolutely nothing to do. TV was the old fashioned TV which was placed too high up.
Other then that it was quite good. If I stay there again I will make some request.

A very nice place to stay while...
A very nice place to stay while in Canberra for budget travelers. It's very accessible to most tourist destinations and the central business district. It's a walk away from that famous Lake Burley Griffin and the Old and New Parliament Houses. The staff are very accommodating and helpful too. And don't forget to grab a bottle or more of Australian Beer at the Restaurant before you retire for bed....
