We stayed in Palace Siam Reap for 3 nights in April 2009. The hotel is good, the rooms are very spaciaous and clean, AirCon workes well. We did not spend too much time around the hotels as the main objective was do explore the ancient ruins of Angkor. However, I can highlight that the Swimming Pool is very large and nice, and the Gym with crosstrainiers, machines and free weights is also absolutely correct for what you would expect from such a hotel. So you get to relax some time after walking around the ruins for hours.
The location is somewhere in the middle between the runins and Siam Reap Center, which is about 3 miles away. You can easily take the free shuttle bus to go into town or take a tuktuk outiside the hotel for around $3 one way (negotiable).
One improvement area here is that the people working at the pool bar could be a bit more proactive serving guests with towels and and a complementary glass of water from time to time (the drinks are quite pricey). I found the staff was stuck behind their bar and not proactive. We were coming from Thailand, where we fount the service standard of service in such hotels is a bit higher, and there is room for improvement. Overall the hotels was aboslutely good and I can recommend it.
