Rooms are rather small, but ok if you're on your own. It was also reasonably quiet from the street noise (a major problem in most Asian cities). Clean, good beds, friendly staff. Location is good if you want to explore the old city, but for shopping, international food or travel agencies you have to go cross town. My room had a connecting door to the next room - I could hear my neighbor snoring at night. Price - value relationship was ok, though.
the rate i got from asiarooms was lowest compared to other booking sites as well as ibis website, unfortunately upon checking in the front officer told me that i have to pay about 20.000 rupiahs more, she said their exchange rate was different than asiarooms. it's a bit tricky i think...
if any of you find this kind of problem ask the hotel to charge the credit card on US$ don't let them convert the rate to rupiah.
the hotel is a bit old nothing special but it's ok if you just need a basic accommodation, the guests mostly local and a bit noisy, they walked around the corridor while talking over the cellphone
Where to start? They got the room booking wrong, they got the check out date wrong, in an international hotel chain the front desk staff can't speak English, I had an emergency credit card replacement delivered to the hotel and it sat in the lobby all day without them letting me know, they don't understand pure and simple logic. This is one of the most incompetent hotels I've ever stayed. Simple as that. The one good thing is the food. Try the Ibis Burger - best burger ever. Not much of a reason to stay there though.
Very good service, spacious rooms, high quality...
Very good service, spacious rooms, high quality hotel, good food, helpful staff. Only negative was the expensive hotel services (ie: internet, bar, room service).
Foyer is a bit tatty. Room was OK but down what looked like a hospital corridor.
Room service food was fine. Laundry came back with marks all over it, and had to be redone.
the room is smaller than what we had anticipated especially the size of the twin bed. Location wise, it is a bit far from interesting shopping places. Anyway, the staff are friendly and warm. Thank you for the warm hospitality, hope to meet you again.

The hotel was very well equipped. The breakfast buffet was large and fresh. We ate at the restaurant afew times and it was good , excellent service. Our only concern was that there were no other eating establishments near. There were, however, lots of banks with ATM's. Chinatown and the Arab Quarter were about 2 blocks away. Very few tourists in this part of the city in March.
