Good value for money. Nice rooms, even though bathroom was not very clean. Overall, good deal for one night before moving to beautiful Perhentian Islands!
Perfect for a short stay. Very simple rooms, TV. we were on the way to perhentian and it was just a one night stop. Nice bathroom. Breakfast OK.
Very good value for money.
I stayed at this hotel/resort for two nights. I found the staff service and standard of room excellent. For me, the hotel is far from anything and one needs own-transport if you wish to use this as a base to explore the area. The beach is not very clean, littered with rubbish even though it is a 'private beach'.
Even before arriving, I had been in touch with one the managers of Crystal Lodge that was very helful in buying local tickets for me, and giving all sort of good tips and taxi fares. Their motto is "Our best we serve" and they indeed keep faith to it. It's quite central, but the only question is "to what" because Kota Bharu has very little to offer a part from night market.
1) The water from the taps is yellowish and does not turn clear even though I run the tap continuously for a long time.
2) My room was not cleaned up yet when I checkin at 4:30pm. The cleaners took about half an hour to complete the cleaning. The following day my room was also not cleaned up yet when I came back at 4pm.
Stayed for 3 nights in April 2010.
On check-in we were given a key to a room that was not made up and stank of cigarette smoke. Back to reception, given key to another room in exactly the same state. Finally given key to another room (ground floor) with only a tiny window and outlook on to car park & builder's rubble. "Renovations" were very noisy and went on late into the night. Dust came in under doors. Had to ask to have the room made up each day and sit in reception while it was being done.
A very poor service and not a good experience!
After 20h on the road it is not nice to try to sleep when they are drilling all evning on the next floor.
And I expect my own towel when i live in a Hotel.
