Like the title given..highly recommended to stay at this hotel..My wife n daughter really satisfied n enjoyed their stay. Walking distance only to Kuching attractive places..e.g. Waterfront, Main Bazaar, Muzeums, etc. In future, if going to Kuching again, definitely I'll will stay at this place!!

Only one very annoying thing, which was the very very loud volume of 'music' up to late at night, incredibly loud, which i believe came from over the river.
i did not want to listen to it, but had no choice as i guess most of kuching did!

The hotel location was very good and...
The hotel location was very good and you didn't have to cross the road to get to the riverside walk. The hotel staff were friendly, particularly with children and some did remember their name. The negatives were that the room looked tired and old, but with the hotel updating one of its two wings, I would hope they will also update the other wing as the rooms need it. The biggest issue was the fact housekeeping left our room unlocked when they had finished and when reported the deputy manager did not seem too concerned and remained standing while talking to us while we were seated. They did check the entry pad, but with the room unlocked no one would have needed a key to enter. Apart from a sorry, the hotel did nothing to make up for this major lapse in security. Unlike some hotels, this hotel also has no security on the lifts so anyone could walk into the hotel and up to the rooms without requiring a room key.

The Grand Margherita Hotel Kuching is perfectly located, just less than 5 minutes walking distance to water front, a very attractive destination for most tourists. The breakfast offers a wide range of possibilities, but that time it was quite crowded. But over all I certainly can recommend the Grand Margherite Hotel Kuching as accomodation when staying in Kuching

No fitness facilities were avaliable eventhough this was included in the description of the hotel facilities.The reception staff should have reacted on a helpfullway (which they were not) and helped us with free entre to the Riverside hotel fitness facility. Otherwise all service was very good including the hard workig staff at the breakfast!The rooms are quite worn out but with some make-over they will be top of the class again.
