The hotel looks good on the photos...
The hotel looks good on the photos in the internet but in reality it is pretty outdated. It propably used to be a good hotel with all the facilities.... but that must have been at least ten years ago. Things are run down and most facilities like bar etc. have been closed down. We stayed in The Lanai Beach Resort for one week and had a good time. The staff is really friendly and helpfull. The rooms are all a bit run down (we looked at 6 different onces), aircondition leaks everywhere and there seems to be a bit of an ant problem. The pool area is quiet nice and really good for kids but cleaning could be improoved. Overall it is ok, but do not exspect anything great, definately not 4 star!

The room is clean. The hotel is very close to the beach. But I feel a little inconvenient when I want to go to the restaurant or buy the fruits . I would like to recommend this hotel to the people who likes the quiet beach.

The TV and the Air-Cond was not working...
However the hotel got its own private beach and nice pool.
For this low price with private beach is the only good thing about this hotel.

I did enjoy my stay at Lanai...
I did enjoy my stay at Lanai Beach Resort in Langkowi Malaysia May 30th to June 1st 2008. I wish Icould have stayed longer.I hope to go back to the Lanai Resort in the future. The Manager and his staff mayed my stay very enjoyable.

The Lanai hotel is a very good...
The Lanai hotel is a very good place to stay. Good situation for those who love quiet and safe place. 2 negatives points: First, you have to take the taxi everytime you go outside cause it's far from the restaurant's area. Second one is the breakfast, please can you change the color of the plates. Green plates are not suitable for breakfast.
Beside this, everything was perfect.

Good hotel and facilities - a bit further out of town with a 15 minute walk, but inexpensive taxis and of course motorbikes can be rented for MR25 per day. Great positioning on the beach and against a headland so no feeling of being crowded by other hotels. Good pool area with some shade during the day.
Worth the stay if you are looking for a location above the budget end, yet still relatively inexpensive in relation to overall hotels costs in Langkawi which are higher than similar locations in other countries. Other costs of a holiday in this location are low.

Location location, this place is right on...
Location location, this place is right on the beach. We stayed 3 nights and for the price we payed I think it was worth it. The place looks nothing like in the picture it is old and tired and in need of make over. Breakfast was not very nice since it was same everyday and the choice was very limited. The rooms were old but clean and it’s bit smelly when you first enter. Eating places near this hotel are about 10-15 min walk. The rooms don’t have any fly screen so expect to get some mosquitoes and it had a spider in the corner of the room as well. The house keeping was very helpful and they gave us fly spray.I would not stay at this place again but it is not a bad spot if you are on a budget.

We stayed for about a week at this hotel, and had an absolutely wonderful time! The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, and we hated to say good-bye to them. We would definitely stay here again. The only slight 'problem' was that there didn't seem to be a reliable supply of hot water, but since the weather was so nice, even this wasn't a serious issue. Great value!!
