Good hotel at reasonable price
Location is in quite area and you have to walk about 10 min to get to the city center. Breakfast was ok but limited: only toast, coffee/tee, juice and mysli/corn flakes. In overall it was a good value for money.

Had a good stay
Definitely value for money!! The hotel is very close (about 3 minutes walking distance) to Penang Road where there are lots of food, shops etc. The bus stops are also on Penang Road and nearby! For those of you who like nightlife, upper penang road (where many bars and clubs are) is just less than 10 minutes walk away. Good fun!
The rooms are clean, a bit old looking but clean. AC works well. No problems at all. The staff are very nice and hospitable - gave us a bus schedule (to main attractions and places) and a map of penang, showing us how to get to places.
I would highly recommend staying here!! Especially if you're on a budget :) It's a great deal.

Best cheap hotel
If u dont want to share in a hostel, want ur own room for cheap, not too fussy abt amenities - this hotel is good value for money. However just don't expect too much...
What i liked about it was:
1) Location - 15 min walk into tourist areas, hawker centres with great cheap malaysian food (5 RMB = £1) around the corner, v close to buses that will take you to all the hotspots, great foot massage place on penang road (45 RMB = £10 for 1 hr) also western bars if you want to mix with other travellers / westerners.
2) best value for money - this place ranked best when comparing against other similar priced hotels / hostels in georgetown.
3) movie channel - had some good movies if you feel like staying in.
4) no fleas / bedbugs
5) free wifi!
Not so good things:
1) Rooms - are a bit dated, noisy fridge in the room which i switched off to sleep, bit smelly due to carpets, bathrooms v average, ac worked however best to keep it on during the day on low to ensure the room is cool when u return.
2) breakfast - was included in the room price but was pretty much just toast & a banana.

Hotel is located in good location; around 1km from heart of G.Town. You can Easily access public transportation and attractive places.

Upon arrive, I wasn't expecting anything too...
Upon arrive, I wasn't expecting anything too brilliant from this hotel. It was a big, old looking tower in the middle of a rather poor and run-down looking area. However, upon entering, I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly and helpful - giving literature and directions to ALL of the attraction Penang had to offer. The rooms were fine, nothing special, but not unbearable either and were very clean. Our only problem was that we requested two single beds but were given a double bed! Other than that, a good hotel! I would definitely recommend it to budget travellers and backpackers!

If you dont have any choice , maybe it's help for night stay only. The staff very informative and kindness. Not much facilities to expect when u staying at 2 stars hotel. Location wise is considered advantage cause of located in mid of city.

Rooms are old, there are ants in the toilet & when we leave some food on the dressing table or bedside table, ants appeared in a mass. Toilets are old & flushing system needs to improve in some rooms. Towels are also broken, faded, thin. Bed covers are old and the air-con makes noise. Fridge had a bottle of water but bottle condition not good, better not to put it in or else once guests check-out should just throw it away. May be a good idea to provide mineral water daily or at least on the 1st day of stay.
