Really nice hotel with excellent service. During our stay my mother had her handbag snatched and was injured and the staff could not have been more helpful in taking us to the hospital, police station and so on. We ate in the restaurant a few times and the food was also very nice.
My only criticism is security. The theft occurred in the hotel driveway and could have been prevented if a proper boom gate was installed. The drive has a boom gate but it has a big gap in the middle which motorbikes can drive straight through. Given the high incidence of snatch thefts in the area I think the hotels should do more to prevent it happening on their own property.

We booked a deluxe seaview room though ASIAROOMS which was very clean and quiet and everything was working properly. Limited satelite TV only. Check-in and -out was easy and quick. Breakfast was very good with reasonable variety. Everyone was helpfull and capable. Lifts and in-house services are faultless. Very good life band entertainment at lobby bar in the evenings without beeing too loud, but drink prices are expensive. This hotel is about halfway between Georgetown and Batu Ferrengi where the tourists and night markets are. Taxi are easy to get and cost about 15 Myr and 30 Myr respectively to get there. No beach in front of hotel, mud flats, some polution. Large western style shopping mall nearby as are local eateries.

My husband n I stayed @ Evergreen fr 19-22 Sep 2008. The price w brkf is reasonable. Though the brkf buffet spread is not fantastic, it's good enough to fill us for the morning. The jacuzzi, sauna, steam room n pool is perfect for relaxation without much disturbance. We also tried the massage @Health Ctr @9.30pm costing RM$88/pax excl tax. Gurney Plaza, a modern shopping complex besides Gurney Drive, is a pleasant 20mins walk by the beach front on proper foot path. The hotel is a dist away fr Georgetown n Penang Rd, a str mkt area. One morning, we walked 45mins to Penang Rd n paid RM$12 for the return journey by cab. Overall, the hotel room is big, clean and comfortable, facilities adequate and staff are very friendly and helpful. The only minus is no shuttle bus to Georgetown.

Very decent business class hotel. Excellent location away from the beaches yet has excellent sea view and seaside walks. Good local food and decent massage parlor just a stone's throw away. Very friendly and efficient staff too. Will definitely return.

Service was oustanding, whether with the travel agent or the health club. The breakfast had a great layout with good service, new how to make eggs just the way I like them. Walks along Gurney drive were fun, only 2 blocks from Starbucks, also walked to the Gurney Mall. The hotel's taxis were upscale and fairly priced. You can arrange all tours from right in the hotel, also had money exchange, but could not exchange Kuwaiti dinar. I had a tennis lesson there along with a hair cut. My wife got here nails done. The Phillipino band at the bar was fun and friendly but not much of a discount at happy hour though. All in All a great hotel with a big lobby which we enjoyed.

The hotel itself was lovely and the pool was nice. The price of the hotel was reasonable however if you go to the bar and get a drink be surprised by the cost, about $5.50 aud for a glass of coke.
Service was very good however i found that no one was ever available at the pool to assist with moving deck chairs etc.
Having separate entries to the pool was also weird and spa and sauna are separate for men and women.
The show in the bar was hysterical, the 4 girls just made me laugh with there little mini skirts and 9 inch heels.
I had a massage, which started out as one price and ended up being nearly double, but it was still cheap enough.
I got charged for a fax that i never asked for.
It is a little far from most things and it is very hot walking but it keeps the weight down!
Overall i would recommend this hotel.

Excellently located hotel, close enough to all attractions, yet far enough away to create an oasis.This is a business hotel, so don't go there if you are looking for a resort experience as the view is only OK and the pool same. But the location was really handy, the staff fantastic, the breakfasts incredible, but beers in the hotel bar were pricey - Ouch ! Large comfy beds, large TV's with plenty of cable options, we would absolutely stay there again.
