Noveotel is fine, no surprises
Check in was excellent, offered free gifts to the kids after I asked for them.
Rooms were fine, great views - we had to book executive as that was all that was left at SG$410 per night, excellent service, kids excluded from the free drinks and canapes so we couldn't go either, but they provided them when asked on another level.
They advised us the kids could use the free XBox and kids area whilst we had drinks, but it's simply a couple of chairs and a computer in the midst of elevators and restaurants with no attendance so very unsafe for children unsupervised (& we didn't want to sit in the corridor either)
OK location, but food at Clarke Quay area hideously expensive, once we realised this and travelled elsewhere it was great. There is a good and cheap pizza restaurant in the basement shops/mall here.
walking distance to Raffles & MRT just across the river.
Someone described it as no nonsense, get what you expect, no hidden costs nor surprises and I guess that's pretty true, although at $410pn - I would like a little more than the basics. we've been spoilt by the luxury of Holiday Inn / Shangri La hotels, so hoped for more.
Room quite noisy until around 2am and we were on the 18th floor, wouldn't like to be any lower!
Overall: 1 of the only hotels we can have 2 kids under 16yrs with us, however, may have been cheaper buying 2 rooms elsewhere, service - fine, location - fine, room - quite acceptable, beds - hard! (as per most of China and some parts of Asia), stay again? probably not on leisure, but yes, perhaps, if on business or a quick stop over.
We had a few problems which were immediately addressed as we were on the exec' floor, I suspect they may not have been dealt with easily if we were on a standard floor.
If the price difference is not much between standard and exec' definitely go for the upgrade. It was probably the difference between service / sleep and attention.
