Nice stay with qualifications
My wife, two-year old son and I stayed at the Parkroyal on Beach for our third trip to Singapore and found the hotel to be pleasant and comfortable. I am writing this review from the point of view of someone traveling with a young child and so some of my comments may be totally irrelevant to others.
Our room (a deluxe) was clean and relatively spacious by Singapore standards. The combined shower and bath was a little disappointing and wouldn't suit a person with limited mobility, but the bathroom was a good size.
When we arrived at the room the cot for my son was already set up and the staff were helpful showing us to the room and helping with luggage. Without exception the staff were helpful and pleasant.
Access to the hotel is via steep steps and so we had to carry our son's stroller up and down it (occasionally with him in it) and the doors at the top are heavy glass and not automatic. The location of the hotel, while handy for Kampong Glam is not ideal for access to other parts of the city since it entails a walk to and from Bugis Junction. While not arduous it is something to consider.
Getting across the road from the hotel requires going over a foot bridge (many steps and so not suitable for a pushchair) or by walking down to Ophir Road and using the lights.
We didn't eat at the hotel and so are not able to comment. There are many eateries in Kampong Glam and at Bugis. Highly recommend Toast Box at Bugis for breakfast.
Overall we would recommend the hotel and would stay there again, but only when our son is a bit older.

Reception staff were courteous but indifferent. When my key card failed I took it all the way back down to reception. The card was taken from me, re-set and returned without a word. No

Absolutely excellent
We stayed here for 6 nights and it was a real pleasure.
The staff were very friendly and willing to help make our stay as nice as possible.
This is in a great location and very close to everything including Clarke quay and bugis street markets.
I give this hotel a 9/10

Comfy & Nice
The wife and I stayed here during the Chinese New Year period in Singapore. Nice big clean rooms. We were even offered complimentary mandarin oranges.
One of the cleanest hotel rooms I have stayed in. We even tested the housekeeping by leaving some used tissue in a remote spot in the room. It was cleaned. Impressive.
The usually picky wife had nothing to pick about the room. Again Impressive.
There's free internet, cable TV, cosy lighting, warm showers. Room is excellent. Swimming pool on the fourth floor is nice. So is the gym. The chinese restaurant is rather pricey but the food they serve is good. Go for the hotel's chinese restaurant if you want to splurge.
Location is just across Arab street. We went to an Arab restaurant on Arab Street called Al Majilis. It was okay. The shops around the hotel sell mostly fishing rods and equipment. Those interested in fishing should go check it out.
One of the gripes I have about this hotel is getting there. It is a bit of a walk getting there from the nearest subway station. But once you get there, the comfort of the room makes it worth the effort.
If you can overlook the haughty guy managing the front desk and the bit of walking, I recommend this hotel with the thumbs up.

Lovely pool
Bedrooms well-equipped with everything you can wish for. Large choice at breakfast - juices, pancakes, fruits, cereals, hot dishes (European and Asian). Nice bar with happy hour (so try your Singapore Sling here rather than at the overpriced Raffles Hotel). Lovely pool with spa treatments, though closed when there's a storm warning which seems to be quite often.

park royal at beach road was a nice place to stay. One minor flaw was that they did not have slippers in my room. I thought this was a standard amenity for a hotel of this caliber.

good value and excellent service
This hotel offers good value for money and a lovely balinese inspired pool area. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Rooms could do with some nice art work but are clean and I love the bathroom that has a glass wall offering natural light. Bar snacks are all sweet and sugary - how about offering something healthy as well?

Well located, value for money
Gorgeous hotel with excellent customer service and located in the cultural heart of little Arabia. Cheap and interesting eats are just across the road, amazing persian carpets and textiles and cushion covers are a short stroll away and of course the beautiful golden dome of the sultan mosque can be seen from the windows of the front facing hotel rooms. The pool is also gorgeous and clean and relaxing (although there is a fair bit of construction noise near the pool as a new building is being built next door. Ask for a front facing room as the rear facing rooms back onto the construction zone and the back of buildings. Easy to catch cabs directly outside the lobby too.
