The positives first...
We were surrounded by nature in the hotel. It was very refreshing to walk through the little gardens & pathways. The pool was fantastic & the surroundings made us feel like we were in a little haven away from the hustle & bustle of city life. The service staff were great. They were attentive to our needs & never failed to greet us with a smile.
The negatives...
Well, we did a little reading up of hotel reviews from '10 & '09 before booking this hotel. Seems like the complaints of yesteryears - a tired-looking hotel, stained towels, poor quality breakfast food & no 1st aid kit are still not attended to. This speaks alot about the hotel's policy on continuous improvement. I was stung by a bee while walking to my room & the hotel had no antiseptic cream whatsoever. My hubby & I had to take a tram ride from the rangers to the Beach station to get a cream from 7-11. I can't imagine what would have happened if I had a severe allergic reaction to the bee sting, not to mention, that I am heavily pregnant during my stay.

Needs a makeover
The first time for me was a business stay for 4N which subsequently made me decide to bring my family here. We had 2 rooms for 2N.
We were greeted by an unhappy and rude front desk lady, who used her long hair to hide her name tag from my view. She listen for answers and was on her mobile phone all the while. Clearly she needs training. First impressions were painful. Rooms had a wet smell. When my son received a cut from the pool, we were given a first aid with empty bottle of iodine. We had to suffice with a plaster over a 13cm gash.
Apart from the unpleasant front desk, we had great experiences with the F&B manager, who went out of his way for our party. he has a great team. We met a knowledgeable gardener, Mr Yeap who manages the roof top garden and entire premise.

Don't expect too much
This is one of the poorest resort I have stayed at this price range. The TV is smaller than my PC monitor. Their accounting was a mess, someone's room service was billed to my room (how could this be)! Bathroom was dirty, the mats were dirty....

A good retreat resort for tired Singaporeans
Siloso Beach Hotel is different as compared to other hotels. It is rustic, simple and close to nature with the imagination of staying in a tree top house. I would visit again.

Relaxing stay
Found a relaxing part of tourist-heavy Sentosa Island, that is Siloso Beach Resort Sentosa! Good room view, friendly front desk staff and located right in front of the beach! Don't expect too much from the breakfast buffet (not too much of choices). Oh, strangely, they don't automatically provide you with toothbrushes/toothpaste and cotton buds (haha), you have to call reception first. I'd suggest to management to tidy up their lift lobby (the one facing the front entrance, by the beach), it is a little pungent and quite dark!
