The location of this hotel is not as bad as what other customer wrote.. You only need to walk about 10mins to ximen mrt.. Its still quite near...

A bit disappointing
As this was a 4-star hotel I had high expectations, especially when I had previously stayed in a 3-star in central Taipei. Firstly, the distance from Ximending was further than I thought, and the immediate streets around the hotel is quiet and dark and do not have any shops. There are some restaurants further towards Ximen, but they are not right next to the hotel. The room was adequate as was the bathroom, but not very big for four adults. I can say that our previous hotel was a lot bigger. Lastly, I can hear the showers in the room next door and people's voices. I didn't try the breakfast so can't comment. The hotel is a favourite for tour companies which makes sense as the tour bus can drop off its passengers easily, but I would personally recommend paying a bit more and actually staying within the Ximending area.
BUT, the lobby was impressive and the room was clean and if you are planning on catching taxis to and from the hotel, then it's not really an issue. I personally prefer being able to walk down and be within shops and local eating places, so for me, this hotel was a disappointment.

no complaints at all
we got a price offer for our room and for that price it was really worth the stay. i particularly liked the perfect room temperature, the room lights that were easy to the eye, and a nice scent in the corridors. all and all i would recommend it. no complaint but nothing really special to talk about for a one night stay. it's 15 minutes walk from ximen and honglou, for a nice night out.

This hotel is just great! Although rather...
This hotel is just great! Although rather pricey but its really worth it. They are extremely fast with the check-in process [around less than 5 mins]. The room is very elegant and clean. The toilets are rather huge and definitely clean. The staffs are very friendly. They can converse in both english and chinese. The concierge is always there if you need help in anything. The things to fuss about were the breakfast; it wasn't that good and it was super duper early. Also, they do not have free internet service. It was ard $300NT for 24hrs. The hotel is situated at a rather desolated place so its rather dangerous to walk back when its late.
