My wife and I stayed at the...
My wife and I stayed at the hotel from the 15th to 21st January 2007. The receptionist, concierge, restaurant and cleaning service staff all spoke good English which we found immensely helpful. Receptionists were also very pleasant, friendly and most helpful in giving advice on places to visit and local transportation system. Amenities were certainly more than adequate. The hotel is very clean and quiet and is located within 10 minutes walk to the YuanShan MRT station. There is also a night market nearby and many restaurants within close proximity where affordable food can be had. We also appreciated the use of a free internet service at the lobby while having our complimentary coffee and cookies for breakfast. The buffet breakfast (and service)is for your personal account but were excellent. We are also grateful for the extended check-out time the hotel granted us as our flight leaving Taipei was at midnight. Because the hotel did not cater to tour groups (one of the reasons we chose this hotel), our stay was very relaxed and enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Taipei.

We were very pleased with our stay...
We were very pleased with our stay at the Riviera. The staff was very accomodating in all respects. We will definitely stay at the Riviera if we go to Taipei again. We highly recommend them.

This hotel has to be one of...
This hotel has to be one of the most friendly I've been to, considering how many times we used the staff for services and booking of tours, directions, etc. The room itself was great - we had a triple room ourself. Very clean and comfortable. We didn't use the restaurants in the hotel but they were your usual hotel restaurant price. There weren't many facilities in the hotel, but we did use the gym - was quite well equipped. Wished they had a sauna / swimming pool there though. There are night markets and places to eat within walking distance from the hotel although the location of the hotel was a bit further than your mainstream hotels - hence the price. But for its price, the extra 5 minutes walk or so is worth it! The MRT is about a 10-15 miinute walk away. Taxis and Hotel Transfers (in a limo) are all well priced. I'd recommend this hotel for keeping up to date and for anyone looking for a nice relaxed place to stay whilst traveling around Taipei.

We were pleasantly surprised with the Riviera....
We were pleasantly surprised with the Riviera. The staff was friendly and helpful and spoke very good English. The hotel decor is European and very nice and clean. The room and bathroom are of standard size but roomy enough for our party of three. We especially enjoyed the Mediterranean Restaurant on the first floor; the food is served buffet style, but you can have them create an omolet for you with what you want in it. It was nice to be able to have meals there that our systems were used to and the food was all wonderful. The hotel is fairly centrally located close to businesses, shopping, and other attractions; all easily accessible via the taxi, bus, or train. One huge plus is the free web access to their patrons. We were able to check our email and keep in touch with family at home every day of our stay. They allow you 2hrs a day use of their 3 computers. Compared to other hotels in Taiwan that charge huge sums for just a few minutes web access this was a wonderful surprise! We will definetly choose to stay at the Riviera on our next visit to Taipei. Our overall experience was great!!!

The Riviera is centrally located. The rooms...
The Riviera is centrally located. The rooms are adequate and clean. Staff is very friendly and most of them english-speaking .The cozy main restaurant serves good meals and is reasonably priced. As the hotel does not cater to groups (local weddings though), the atmosphere is always business-like, with a mix of local and overseas travellers.
