old with outdated design, but OK
The rooms have seen better days. Nothing is really wrong, but it simply does not feel to belong to these times. The price was OK, staff was friendly. Room (studio) not too big. Big bath tub with shower for people no taller than 1.60m. 300 Baht per day for Internetconnection. Pretty centrally located at Ploenchit, Skytrain close by.

Having stayed at the Chateau many times before, the service and friendly attitude of the staff is still excellent. A very friendly hotel in a very convenient position to get to the highway and the sky train.

We were impressed when we first arrived....
We were impressed when we first arrived. Security guard saluted to us which made us felt really special, the welcome drink was tasty (unlike some horrible tasting fruit punch we got in some other hotels), receptionist & bell captain were very friendly. Apartments were very spacious. However our apartment on the 9th floor had the jacuzzi bath & the safe in the 2nd bedroom instead of the master bedroom. When we woke up the next morning, we found tiny red ants crawling all over our clothings, in the kitchen & in the bathroom. Housekeeping washed our clothes but our friends who were staying with us got a bill for 4000 over baht. As it happened over the weekend, nobody in the hotel have the authority to waive the bill and our friend was really upset by it. Eventually the GM waived the bill on Monday morning. There were no apology from anybody in the hotel with regards to this incident which reflected really badly on the management.
Overall, it is a nice hotel...just make sure that you check your rooms for tiny red ants & avoid the 2bedroom apartment located right at the end of the 9th floor at all cost!!!

My wife and I have stayed at Chateau deBangkok before and will again. The rooms are generously sized and the staff has been very helpful. Right across the street is a shopping center and food market. Very handy. Just a short walk to the BTS Skytrain station.

Stayed for two nights at the Chateau...
Stayed for two nights at the Chateau de Bangkok and was quite desappointed.
The swimmming pool and gym are really small, the bar at the top floor unattended. The breakfast room is not very nice either.
The room was large but old fashionned, with stains on the bed cover.
All together it looks better from the outside than what it really is ! On my previous visit to Bangkok 4 months earlier I stayed at the Majestic Grande in the same area. It really is a much better choice and is slightly cheaper.
