thank you for your time to write back i loved it there and i cant wait to go back again in april i will be there for 5 days i love it.the Tai Pan is close to everything i need shopping stores places to eat ,talking about food your food itself was great thank you again and hope to see you soon again

I was in Hotel Tai Pan for 3 nights i.e. 7th, 8th and 9th Dec 05. Nice gesture @ the lobby by the staff.
(1) However, it looks like the rooms are poorly maintained. A very bad smell used to haunt every time the occupant gets into the room. Found that, the bath room items are not replaced, even if they were not available in the room.
(2) Location is deep inside the main road. Very tiresome to reach the MRT / SkyTrain.
(3) Internet speed @ hotel is dead slow. Nothing will workout in 10MBps speed. Need to provide broadband facility.
(4) Breakfast was good

I was a little concerned by some...
I was a little concerned by some of the previous reviews of this hotel, before my wife and I arrived there. Happily I needn't have been. The staff were very good. The rooms, though fairly basic, were spacious, comfortable and had the essentials. The location was extremely convenient for both SkyTrain and Metro, although beware the pavement between hotel and the stations. Trees grow through it and the roots have turned the pavement into a considerable challenge. Also note that the shortest route to the station takes you through the Soi Cowboy entertainment area, so maybe not so good for kids. The buffet breakfast was superb and the room rate very reasonable. I would definitely stay there next time I am in Bangkok.

We stayed in a deluxe room which was very spacious. We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the room and service of the staff. The location is excellent for Bangkok. The hotel also offers good and inexpensive buffets. We will definitely return in the future.

Still one of the best mid priced hotels on sukhumvit and rooms well maintained. They still have the unreliable travel agent though and still employ those annoying time share sellers on sukhumvit. Music in the lobby is terrible.

Very good value for money at Tai Pan hotel. Excellent location for shopping and restaurants. Breakfast is really nice. Avoid the organised tours (floating market) where you end up spending more time in tourist trap than at the desired location.

An old hotel - nothing fancy. The pool is very small (enough to relax however) and well maintained gym. But rooms are spacious, staffs friendly and location superb. Close to lots of things yet in a quite leavy part of Sukhumvit. Access to airport is easy. I would recommend people to stay at Tai Pan, for its good value and friendliness.
