it was only ok,there was a weird smell everytime i got off the elevator on the ground floor, they probably have a sewer problem,but other than that it was ok , room was very clean.

Room was very large but the beds were more than a little uncomfortable. Room furniture a little worn and torn also but okay. Quite clean, but again old towels etc.
Location was poor for us, it is over in the old city beside Khao San Rd, very convenient for the palaces and the river in the daytime but at night-time when you go out to any other areas it is not within easy reach of the MRT or Skytrain.

My stay at the Viengtai Hotel was very enjoyable. The rooms are spacious and clean. Some of the carpet is older, and the are replacing carpet and renovating many of the rooms, but it was all clean nonetheless. the bathrooms wonderful, the water pressure was amazing. The included breakfast buffet was plentiful and the variety was nice. You could have asian style breakfast or western dependent on your mood. I would definetly reccomend this hotel, it is worth the money!

Loved my stay here. Stayed at much more expensive hotel later in Bangkok but wished I'd booked for here instead. Proximity to river and Khao San Road a huge plus.

All of the employees where friendly, helpful and courteous. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had no problem with the facilities. The included breakfast was very good with a nice selection of good quality Thai and western style foods.
We would have preferred a double/queen size bed to the twin beds, but that was not an option. Our first night was on the street-side of the hotel and the music from local bars and eateries was annoying, but we were promptly moved to the rear for the rest of our stay.
This is a good location for Banglampoo without being right on Kao San. Convenient to the river and old city, we would probably stay here again.

The hotel was in a great location, which meant we could walk to everything we wanted to see in Bangkok. Also, being off Khao San Road meant that most of the street noise was blocked out. Not all of it, however, and should you stay here, request a room in the back of the building off the street. However, the restaurants in the area were great. Ultra-friendly staff, good deal for the money.

This hotel was ok. It was quite and the beds were comfortable. Free bottled water was available, and the toiletries were topped up every day. The bathroom was a bit mouldy, but was clean and the shower was hot and the pressure good. The location was excellent. Walking distance to everything. Very good for a short stop over if you are tired and dont want to stress too much.

The hotel is functional and clean and has a nice/clean and under-used pool, though the pool is surrounded by the building making it shady and not a beautiful environment for sitting around and sunbathing. More of a stop-over hotel than a place to stay.
The hotel was quiet even on New Year's eve.
The breakfast includes a wide ranging selection but is of disapointing quality and the breakfast area is small if you hit peak time.
We booked a double room and a triple room and had to put up with an extra bed in double room because the booked triple room was not available - the hotel refused to do anything about this because the room was already paid. At least the double rooms were a good size. Apart from that the hotel staff were helpful and allowed us to leave baggage all day after we checked out and offered a 14.00 checkout when asked. Though the baggage never got put away into a locked room.
Its about a 60-70 Baht meter taxi (if they will take you on the meter) to the MDK department store and a bit less to the central railway station.
