Nice hotel but not very famous
Ecotel is a budget hotel. Just pay a very reasonable rate, you'll get a clean room, nice breakfast. Can't complain much about it. But, a lot of taxi or tuk tuk driver do not know the location, make sure you have the map or hotel card with you all the time.

Staying at Ecotel, Bangkok
Ecotel is a 10 star hotel at a three star price, excellent value for money. 10 mins walk to Pratunam Markets,some taxi drivers near the hotel will not put on the meter. As you leave the hotel, turn left at the first street on left, walk to the bottom (5mins) and the taxi drivers will, no problem. I get motorbike taxis most of the time, I ask the hotel staff how much I should pay and they are more than willing to help.
I cannot say enough about the hotel, great value for money, I payed $38 AUD per night, stayed 3 weeks, buffet breakfast tops. I think they made a mistake or I got it at half price. as I was only interested in shopping around Pratunam Markets I cannot tell you about trains.
Great value, hated to leave. Good luck.

Hard to find, but worth every cent!
Because the hotel is fairly new, most cab drivers don't know where it is. However, just simply by saying Bangkok Palace Hotel and then walking 10 steps to the Ecotel from there was easy enough.
Very good value for money, however, staff needs to be better trained in English.
Excellent location, close to Pratunam Night Market.
Rooms are basic but sufficient, although smoking areas can be more comfortable.

my flight to HK was 6am and i requested morning call on 3.30am, as the driver would pick up at 4.15am, but the call only rang at 4.05am, and he nervously asked...mam, have you already waken up? excellent!!
The room is clean though (but no bathtub) and and quite cheap, value for money.
