Convenient but old...
Star hotel is conveniently close to the Night Bazaar. However, the hotel and its facilities are old and in dire need of an upgrade. I would recommend that you stay here only if you are on a tight budget and only want convenience and if you are not extremely particular about the state of the rooms. we checked out after 2 nights although we intended to stay for 4 nights. we even paid extra for hte bigger deluxe double corner room which has a lot more space but ultimately we thought we would be more comfortable elsewhere and we were right.

Within walking distance of Warorat market, the river & the old city. Night Market on doorstep.
Room 701 was good - clean, hot shower, good A/C, kettle & mini bar.
Some oher reviews put this place down - carpet smells etc... but not our experience. These hotels are not new - and, for the price, we were satisfied.
Would have stayed another week but they were full.

Clean Room
Room is clean, but the shower head is faulty.Water leaked from the bathtub everytime the shower is turn on. Hotel is situated smack in the middle of night market thus food and shopping is very much accessible. Give the breakfast in the hotel a skip unless you are absolutely hungry and couldn't be bothered with the quality of food :)

this hotel is well located, 2 steps from Night Bazar markets and shopping center (Pantip Plaza), Chiang Mai old town can be reach easily by walk.
Excellent hotel service, good buffet breakfast, hotel very clean (bed sheet, bath towel, all are in perfect white !), spacious room, modern style, very confortable.

which the hotel should provide, besides providing free flow of coffee and tea at the lobby until 6pm.
The bathroom rather small.
The Double bed is made from 2 single beds joining together which are supposed to be either one big king/queen size bed.

Esta al lado del night bazar y...
Esta al lado del night bazar y del aeropuerto, y por pocos bahts puedes ver el resto de la ciudad antigua. Es limpio, tiene aire acondicionado, el servicio es amable... el desayuno si lo mejoraria pero es solo por decir algo mejorable.
Volvería sin dudarlo.

If you consider about location and price,...
If you consider about location and price, it's really worth. It costs only THB 690/Night (superior/double) for 2 pax including breakfast, if you booked via asiarooms.com. Only the drawback is that hotel is quite old and bad odor is coming out from old carpets.

3 minutes walk from the night market. The room was a little bit worn-out, but OK. Breakfast here was excellent.

The hotel isn't much to look at...
The hotel isn't much to look at from the outside, but at the deal rate of 15 pounds a night you will struggle to find a hotel in Chiang Mai of this high quality. Breakfast buffet and Wi-Fi was good. Bathroom was nice with a strong, hot shower and free toiletries. They also provide free water and lots of clean towels and the mini bar is reasonably priced. Never used the tour desk, so we can't comment, although positively they weren't pushy for us to use their services.
