Amazing customer service
The hotel is charming, albeit not dramatically beautiful...still, the customer service of the staff is just mind blowingly great. They must steal staff from the Four Seasons because they're all unusually good. lol
Highly worth staying here....charming and very family friendly. Good location if you're into Mae Rim and the tourist stuff over there.

There were only a few guest in the resort during our stay.
We received excellent service from politely staff.
The villa seemed not to be used for a longer time, so a proper cleaning (eg. of the whirlpool and its water pipes and the curtains) should be done.
Anyway, we really did have a very good time.
Mostly we enjoyed the massages at the spa.

Beautiful, Clean, Friendly
The hotel is great and pleasently set out. The rooms are clean and well kept, The food in the hotel is tasty and served by friendly staff. The hotel reception staff will do all and more to make your stay the best that you could hope for.

My third visit to Away Suansawan, Maerim...
My third visit to Away Suansawan, Maerim and this trip was every bit as good as the first two! The hotel is a little slice of paradise set amongst beautiful countryside. Rooms are large, clean and well equiped but it is the service that marks this hotel as something special. Peter and his team are extremely welcoming and special thanks should go to Jack who continues to make each guest feel like a VIP. Fantastic, as always. Thank you.

This is an absolutely beautiful resort the location is stunning.Rooms are mostly in villas, some villas are single rooms, some are 2 rooms.The rooms are a good size and very clean.Although outside of Chiang Mai the location is very good for many of the activities such as The Elephant Camp, The beautiful Maesa waterfalls, X Centre ( for bungy and off road buggies)and the Tiger Kingdom.The staff at the resort are very helpful and booked everything for us and when we checked prices we could not do it ourselves cheaper.The facilities at the resort are excellent. The fitness room is well equipped and the sauna is good.There are 2 swimming pools which thankfully are well-cleaned every day and do not taste of chlorine.There seems an army of people keeping the resort clean and tidy, I guess it is because the resort is British owned and the owner who lives on site can be seen checking the resort every day.We enjoyed our stay here immensely and would recommend it without hesitation if you want a garden environment with great views, if you want quietness and relaxation and if you don't like concrete blocks and traffic.

Away Suansawan Resort is beautiful, we enjoyed the gardens, trees and lake but most of all the mountain views.The resort has a lot of space, it is perfect to walk around, so peaceful and quiet.There are 2 swimming pools, one great for 'laps' one more suited to fun especially standing under the waterfall.The fitness room was good and the sauna too.Our room was very pleasant with a garden view, most of the rooms are villas.Free wifi was a definite bonus.We eat in the outside restaurant perfect at breakfast viewing the gardens and mountains.We booked the resort's local tours and they were excellent value.The best treat of all was a spa treatment at the very beautiful spa, we didn't have a mineral bath in the huge spa bath, maybe next time. All service was high quality and friendly, the staff seem to enjoy looking after the guests..We enjoyed our stay at 'Away' and we would recommend it to anyone

We stayed in a Lake side villa. It's obvious that the new owners have spent a lot of money refurbishing the rooms. They were brilliant. The grounds of the resort were lovely and the staff were very nice. The resort is close to the Tiger farm, elephant camp and water falls. I hate giving away secrets, but this resort is a real hidden gem.

The location was perfect for us...it is just far enough from the city life so that we could enjoy the quiet, relaxed atmosphere in the mountains. We live in Bangkok and were looking to get away from the city. We drove our own car and that was a plus! The resort was close enough to the city that we ate dinner there almost every evening. The grounds are well maintained and it was a taste of paradise. The rooms were tastefully decorated in traditional Thai style, they were spacious and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Our reservation included breakfast every morning and we were served a full course breakfast (we chose the American breakfast) that even our 2 and 3 year olds enjoyed. The staff was very helpful, personable, and accomodating. The resort is located near many of the popular sites: it's 15 minutes away from the Mae Sa Elephant Camp (well worth the money!), 10 minutes or less from the Queen's botanical gardens, 5 minutes or less from two orchid/butterfly farms, 5 minutes from the Monkey Centre, 5 minutes from the Mae Sa Waterfalls...The list is endless. The "Old City" of Chiang Mai is too busy and only the markets and wats to see...staying in the mountains (only 20 minutes or so outside the city) at the Away Resort is the best way to go! Their pools were beautiful and relaxing and the kiddie pool was the perfect size for our 2 and 3 year old children! I cannot say enough positive things about this resort. It's a MUST stay!!
