Poor cleanliness of the room, too old fashioned.
As I remember the room wasn't very clean, I believe there is a lack of staff, it looked like the room had been cleaned very quickly. No shampoo provided, pillows thrown on top of the TV cabinet, lots of dust under the bed and so on. As well I really believe that the hotel needs some refurbishment, it looks too old fashioned. The TV for example is not even a flat screen just this huge old TV with a poor image quality and most of the room furniture is not really practical. Apart from that we had a really nice stay at Anantara, we have been outside the room most of the time anyway, mostly enjoying the swimming pool for our young daughter. We choose this hotel for its posterity and not for its location (far from the city centre but we hired a private taxi driver), but we were a bit disappointed by the room itself. Staff were really kind and smiley by the way.

The resort was a real paradise, quiet, civilized, beautifull garden and a great staff! Everybody was very, very friendly and relaxed. It felt warm and welcome. Staff took good care of surroundings and guests. Even the little stone gardenpigs got fresh flowers on there heads everyday!
Near the resort was nothing to experience, we had to take the hotelshuttle early in the evening to Hua Hin for that. During the day we stayed at the resort, walked down the beach read a lot of books and had very good lunches in the beach restaurant, and that didn't feel as a punishment at all! We'll come back for shore to this paradise!

This was my second visit. My partner who has stayed at another 5* property in Hua Hin felt that some of the room amenities could have been better as well as offered free of charge to guests -- i.e. bathrobe and slipers. The bathrobe when purchased was quite expensive at 1800BHT (NZD90.00 apx).
Personaly, I still find their SPA outstanding and the Italian restaurant very, very good. Also all staff are extremely courteous and friendly and willing to go that "extra mile"..........

The deluxe garden room was ok, to compare to the price, I think it's not worth. The service was really good.
What I found as problems in the room are mosquitos and some electrical problem. There were really a lot of mosquitos despite of the winter, we couldn't sleep tight because of them. The hotel solves the problem by putting a bottle of insecticide, hoping the clients use it themselves, but we didn't use because I(Mrs. Riedel) am pregnant ( and it's not good anyway to do it while there were somebody inside).
Besides, an electric light at the entrance of the room was defected, started on the first day and completedly defected on the next day.
Eventhough that room were the cheapest one, the price was not low at all.It's not the problem about the price but it is "it's not worth to the money", the hotel should be more careful about this.
We are impressed to the service but not to the room at all.

It was so nice to be back...
It was so nice to be back in Anantara, which we find is one of the best resorts in Thailand. The service is excellent, the pool is fantastic and the rooms and over all design of the resort simply have to be tried! We love it every time. Look forward to go back asap!

Book the best room you can afford...
Book the best room you can afford - some of the garden view rooms appeared to be very dark. We took a suite which was absolutely superb. Beware of the attempts to sell you a meal package as soon as you arrive - the food in the night market restaurants has to be seen to be believed - fantastic quality and very reasonably priced. A very, very good hotel, only slightly let down by it's beachfront appearance

The Anatara resort in Hua Hin was to die for. Beautiful pools and grounds and private beach. Excellent restaurants with great food, but a bit pricy. This is a nice spot for families and couples who can afford it. It is very private and a bit of a drive to town, but very nice for relaxation and complete luxury.
