This is a wonderful little resort with lots of character! It is a little far from everything, but if you want a nice, relaxing vacation this is the place. From the moment we arrived everyone was helpful and attentive. By dinner they all knew our names!
I read before hand that some thought the size of the superior rooms were small. While it is not a suite, it is as big and a normal hotel room you would have if you stayed at a Hilton or Marriott. The size was quite comfortable and the bathrooms were amazing! My husband was worried that with the tub being outdoors it would be bug invaded and dirty, but this was not the case. They did a great job of keeping everything very clean. One thing you do have to remember that you are in a tropical area, so at night you can defiantly hear the insects outside! After two nights they become background noise and you don't even notice them.
While it's true there is only one restaurant onsite, the food is wonderful! We sampled food from both the Thai and Western menus and were very pleased with everything. The prices are more than you would pay in Krabi Town or Ao Nang Beach, but not too bad overall. Only complaint is that the drinks are not as you would expect elsewhere so beware of what you order. Example, we ordered a daiquiri as well as a frozen margarita and they were nothing like you would have expected! My recommendation...The Calm Monkey, it was great!
The resort offers shuttles to Ao Nang beach as well as Krabi Town for much cheaper than a taxi, but they only allow you to stay there for 2 hours. We wanted to go to Ao Nang Beach for dinner, and ended up taking a taxi back to the resort because 2 hours was not enough time to eat and shop. It's worth the trip to Ao Nang Beach for the food. There is an Italian place on the main street (if you are coming from the shuttle drop off it is on the right side of road walking toward the water) that advertises pizzas for 150 Baht and was very good. It's a must try if you are in the area, and the prices are unbeatable!
Overall we loved this place and would stay again if we ever return to Krabi. The beach area is very relaxing, spa was wonderful, and the food was good.

except .............. that you can hardly sit confortably, neither on your terrace, nor on the beach !
The management should install confortable chairs
if not on the beach, than at least in the garden !
We certainly would consider to return here next year if these wishes could be met !

This is one of the best boutique...
This is one of the best boutique resorts I ever stayed at. My expectations were reasonably high before I set foot on the property and once I did, my level of satisfaction exceeded my expectations. The staff were wonderful (especially Sunny, the 'Residents Manager') and the condition of the property was excellent. Beautiful rooms, gardens, layout, landscaping and the meals were of high quality. The spa was little pricey and the range of treatments wasn't huge but we numerous treatments at Tubkaak and each one left us feeling relaxed & refreshed.
There is no view of the beach from the pool but I didn't see this as an issue as the landscaping around the pool was great, making it a nice to place to hang out, read a book & have regular dips in the pool after spending most of the day on the beach. The private beach is awesome and so too are the bean bags they provide to lay on the beach with.

I booked thru asiarooms for our honeymoon celebration 3 days/ 2 nights last OCT 2008. Wonderful! this is a perfect getaway for all couples. I have been to many countries and many resorts around Asia, Europe and USA... none can compare to Tubkaak in terms of service and experience.
I booked via AsiaRooms, and the hotel gave us the same Bhat 600 per person voucher (per day). Which was used as credit to enjoy dinner / massage! Wow!
All i can say is that this is one of the best, must-go place in Asia for a relaxing vacation.
The General Manager is such a sweet lady , and the service is so personalized. They really look after you and ensure you walk away with a memorable experience in Tubkaak! It is amazing!!! I will surely go back one day.

The food is very good/excellent, service is outstanding and the views are spectacular.
The Tubkaak is remote, however so it is not easy to get around to different venues, resturants, etc.
But if seclusion in a high end couples orientated resort is your thing, then this is it.
Asia Rooms has great pricing on this resort and is about one half of the published rack rate, inclusive of breakfast.
When booking w/ Asia Rooms the resort also extends a credit of 600 baht per person, per day that will be deducted from your invoice at the end of your stay.
Great place, service, food, pool and stunning views.

The hotel was perfect. We stayed there three nights, and from the first moment we arrived we didn´t want to leave. The room, with the shower and the bathtube in the open air, and the facilities were great. The service was simply perfect and we enjoyed every moment we spent there.
The hotel is a little bit apart from restaurants and other activities, so I would recommend it if you want to expend some time in the hotel facilities.
