We were upgraded to a river side...
We were upgraded to a river side villa, where was a fantastic room - spacious and clean with views of the little river and surrounding farms. Local elephant owners brought their elephants directly outside our villa into the river to feed and bath. The pools and natural springs were amazing as was the resturant and staff. This resort is a about 15 minutes out of Pai by car or bike, and is a great place to relax and cool off. Even thought it is a little out of town, they do provide a shuttle service which is timely and useful!

But I'm not sure for other type of room. Lots of tree compare to other resort. I'll be back for the same type of room.
But the negative things are service and cleanliness but they are not that bad.

My girlfriend and I stayed 4 nights...
My girlfriend and I stayed 4 nights in one of the chalets by the river. The room was lovely and we felt the landscaping around the hotel gave the rooms a private and secluded feel. There is a lovely swimming pool, the food in the restaurant was fine and not overpriced (for a hotel) and we found the staff friendly and helpful.
Pai is 6km away so you will need to hire a car/moped or use taxis frequently - but we were looking for something out of town and this fitted the bill perfectly. The general area around the hotel and Pai is beautiful.
There was some building work going on near the pool when we were there (Jan 2009) but this is at one end of the hotel and we didn't hear anything.
Overall, we were very pleased we stayed here and if we ever visit Pai again we would certainly want to stay here again.

Beautiful, peaceful setting next the Pai river and well out of town (you will be stuck there with no personal transportation), with spacious, well-equipped and nicely done new bungalows ("pool villas", with their own outdoor tubs). All the hardware is there (despite the slimy, murky public hotsprings pools, which don't appear to have been cleaned in the last decade), so it is unfortunate that the "software" is desperately lacking. The reception desk at this resort has absolutely no service mind whatsoever, and flat-out refused to help arrange transport to and from the resort. (The resort is located about 10km outside of the main town, which we knew in advance of booking, but assumed there would be some sort of transport option. While the hotel technically has a van, it is often unavailable, has no regular service into town and is expensive). On our first night, we literally sat in the lobby calling random numbers found off a map, trying to arrange a car to take us into town, while the reception desk watched (and we are Thai, so language was not a problem). This is unacceptable for a resort so far away from town and left a very bad impression--I would not return as a result, and would have checked out right then except for having a pre-paid AsiaRooms booking. In addition, the restaurant does great food, but is greatly understaffed (at least at the height of new year) and even drinking water ran out..and when you have no transport, it is your only choice.
In short, if you drive yourself to Pai and stay, you could perhaps enjoy this resort. However, you will be supporting a business that clearly does not have the interests of its guests in mind. If you do not have a car, give it a miss, unless you truly do plan to spend your days relaxing at the resort, in which case you might find it pleasant. This place has a lot of potential, but needs much more attention to service and management to keep it competitive.

Run down place. Shower is not hot, in fact it was cold. Room was poorly maintained. Even facilities like the spa pool was slimy and slippery. The staff (housekeeping) obviously took no pride in working here. They were just sitting near my room and chatting and idling their time away. One even had the gall to ask me for some donation!

Very nice place, in beautiful garden. Pools are filled with hot spring water. Nice restaurant available. You can make elephant rides which we only found out there. Probably cheaper and much more fun than the ride we took near Chiang Mai.

A top place to really relax. Beautiful gardens with pools full of warm spring water for use any time, a delightful outdoor dining area overlooking the Pai river, plenty of room in the standard rooms and gorgeous superior rooms with private spa on
verandah. One would have to be hard to please not to like this place.
