Perfect Vacation!
We had a great time on our holiday, it was our first time to Thailand and the Hotel was perfect for us. Its is located in walking distance from everything but not so close that the street noise is a problem, inside the resort itself is quiet and peaceful with a lovely pool and deckchairs. The beach is across the road and the street has stalls to shop, but not as hectic as the main strip (which is about a 5 - 10 minute walk around the block). The staff were always friendly and helpful and the tourist desk made it easy to book outings. We did have an earthquake whilst on our stay, the staff were calm and helpful keeping us updated and escorting us to the roof. The breakfast had a wide range of variety and was buffet style set up. The drinks in the resort are a bit pricey, but its what you expect for a resort style hotel. Overall this hotel was a great place to stay, and would stay there again.

Would stay again
Great location for beach and street stalls. We were upgraded from superior to deluxe then we asked if we could upgrade again to premier and pay the difference, which they agreed to.
Some of the staff round the pool were a bit miserable but perhaps that is because there seem to be a lot of unfriendly ppl staying there. I don't think it was the language barrier, as even to have eye contact with some guests was a challenge let alone a smile, so maybe the staff have given up with everyone with fair hair!
This didn't spoil our time at the thara patong, we were quite amused by it!
Breakfast was a challenge to get a cup of tea/ coffee - the staff dont seem to be very organised. In fact our plates were taken away one day when we got up to find tea! Breakfast buffet was good - plenty of choice.
Room was cleaned nicely and the maid was very helpful with extra sachets of coffee when we asked.
Hairdryers are useless!
Again, sounds like a complaining review, but I'd stay again- thepools are lovely but all of these ppl previously mentioned, lay claim to their sun bed first thing in the morning and don't come near the pool till the afternoon! We ended up moving them to be honest. I think the hotel should have a rule - no towel laying!

Family Friendly with great location.
We've recently stayed at Thara Patong Beach resort and wished we stayed longer to enjoy more of the facilities offered to us like the pools. They had a kids pool which my 22 month old loved and next to it was another decent pool. The location was perfect as we could just walk to eat or shop. I would recommend it to anyone with kids looking for a family friendly place to stay.

Thara Patong Resort Hotel
We were kept waiting on arrival for four hours for our room. This after a 16 hour overnight flight.
On leaving we requested the room until 3,30pm and were told we must book out by 2,00pm or pay for half a day extra. I would understand if the hotel was full but I would have guessed the occupancy was 15% if that and for an extra 1.5 hours they could have accommodated us.

Paradise
Wonderful experience, We have no complaints and the experience were all positive. The hotel had everything we needed. 2 great pools and the staff were very professional and very friendly. We didn't eat there much because there are many restaurants near by, all serving delicious food at a reasonable price. Bangla road is a short walk ,and another positive is that the hotel is very quiet and relaxing. This is my second time in Phuket and I will return next year. Hopefully we can stay at the first class Thara Patong again. i would highly recommend this wonderful hotel.

Not to bad
Mattress was harder than concrete, but bed rattled like a tree house in a cyclone. Shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. Pool was dirty and our room Safe didnt work. Other than that, hotel was fine. Breakfast was good and tour desk helped out heaps. Only thing is, you are right next to the bangla area. Soon as you walk outside you are hassled. Ok if that's what you are there for but not the most romantic/family place i have seen. A little Over priced but i guess that comes with the area. All in all I give it a 3.5

Average
A very large resort and lacking in customer service. It was an average stay. The deluxe room I was first given was f*ing far from the reception area. I had to complain and got another room instead. Sewage disposal is around the back of the premier rooms, so don't go for that if u don't like the stink! I'd advise you to get the superior rooms cos it's near the front of the hotel or the premier ground floor rooms with pool access :)

Great Location
The hotel is situated perfectly for walking distance to everything in Patong Beach. The hotel was quiet, clean and friendly with two good sized pools. Our room decor was tired, however was clean and had everything we needed. The bed was rock hard as were the pillows.
Overall we would recommend this hotel for singles, couples or families. The 'upmarket' rooms have a lovely outlook onto the pool and looked very nice - our accommodation was in the older part of the hotel.
Would certainly return again.
