Great service
The accommodation was clean and spacious (we had a twin room) and very close to all the cathedral and some great food and shopping spots. The customer service at this hotel could not be faulted. They were very friendly and helpful and gave a full run down on all the things to do and places to go to in Hanoi including pointing out things to avoid. I would stay here again.

Wonderful stay at Splendid Star Hotel 2
I picked this hotel based on reviews I had read. The hotel may be listed as 3 star, but the service is 5 star. The hotel emailed me and offered to arrange a taxi pickup from the airport. There was a warm and cheerful greeting on arrival, as well as the best mango juice I have tried.
The hotel is set on a quiet street (if there is such a thing in the Old Quarter of town!) that is too narrow for a car to drive through. The buildings are renovated nicely but lend an atmosphere of charm and nostalgia. Beds are comfortable and the rooms spacious. The big screen TV and in-room computer with internet access was a hit with the whole family.
The staff arranged a city tour and Halong Bay tour (both worth the price). They also recommended some good restaurants within easy walking distance.
The whole family liked the hotel so much, we booked an extra night on our return from touring Halong Bay. Would definitely return to this hotel if in Hanoi again.

Memorable stay with friendly and helpful staff!
I have travelled to many countries around the would and stayed at many three star hotels. This is the first time I have visited Hanoi and stayed at Splendid Star Grand hotel. It is very nice and has a great location, quiet and peace, everything I could find only in walking distance. The staff was very friendly and funny, and itself had a cosy atmosphere.
They were willing to recommend the best tour and book Halong Bay tour for me – very happy with that. Nothing is too trouble with them.
Although I only stayed one night, but they offered me a good room with air-condition, DVD player and slim TV with cable. Room was very nice and clean. Great bathroom with modern shower.
Service was served quickly with a smile. Summary, everything in this hotel made sure well enjoyed my stay. Highly recommend and definitely to come back next trip in Hanoi.

Spendid Star 2 is superb!
This hotel is a small boutique hotel but the family room we stayed in is big, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very good with wide choices. The staff is very friendly and helpful (totally not commercialized for we had a bad experience in another hotel nearby) ! You can be rest assured that you will get superb service from Mr Martin who is very helpful and friendly. With him around as customer service staff, I high recommend this hotel - a hotel of 3 star price but a 4-5 stars service!

Useless to make reservation
Our friends and us stayed in this place a few times already. Every time we made advance reservations, we have been separated and lodged in different hotels. Even though they are beside each other, it's inconvenient and a hassle. The breakfast room in our hotel accomodates only 4 tables, if they are taken, you have to move again. One hotel has got an open terrasse on the top floor, the weather was cold and rainy, still you sit outside! A nightmare if you're getting out of bed and wish to have a warm breakfast. This place is only recommendable for backpackers who don't want to pay for comfort. We only chose it because it's close to Hoan Kiem Lake. Next time we rather pay more and take a taxi to old town than having this experience again. One of the staff is unprofessional and harrassed us in a way that even for a cheap place like this is absolutely unappropriate.
Conclusion: Never again...

Very very beauty and friendly hotel
This hotel can make you feel like home due to the friendly and helpful staff, convenience, good rate and cleanliness. Splendid Star 2 Hotel is rather new located next to Cathedral and close to many shopping centers. My husband and I felt comfort with our stay, we made such a wonderful choice for our accommodation in Hanoi. We will choose to stay here again when we come to Hanoi.

Beautiful modern hotel with great staff.
It's beautiful modern hotel. Room was clean, comfortable, quite enough equipment. Location is in the heart of old quarter, so wherever u goes it is not too far away. The breakfast was good with great buffet type. Services in there were ok and reasonable prices. The staff were really nice, hospitable and friendly guest of all nations. we realy like this hotel
