"This hotel is a magnificent palace built by a maharadjah with the influence of British architecture.
It is really an experience to stay in this hotel.
The rooms we had were the simplest in the hotel ; they were located on the roofs and each one was different from the others.

"Everything was good barring the Airconditioner which was the most important due to the hot summer. The room was too big for the small aircon and the room temperature was 30+ and was quite difficult to sleep. There is no point having a great room if the bare essentials are not taken care of. Probably its better to stay in this hotel in the summer. "

"We stayed at Laxmi Niwas Palace for one night on our way from Delhi to Jaisalmer. I had booked a Haveli in town at first but then I read that other travellers mentioned that it is not worth to be in a central location in Bikaner as you will not go outside in the evening anyway....so we changed to Laxmi Niwas which is a bit out of town.
Its a beautiful Maharaja's Palace and our room was almost as big as our apartment back home. The hotel restaurant offers nice lunches and dinners in the courtyard of the hotel and in the evening at dinner time there was some sort of cultural show with local musicians and a dancer (she also walked on broken glass etc etc).
During the rest of our trip we had some drinks or meals at other Palaces where the service was much better than at Laxmi Niwas (not saying that the service there was bad!) - but the room prices for the other palaces were much much higher.
So I can really recommend this place if you intend to go to Bikaner!"

Comments: The hotel premises and the environment are excellent, superior to the rooms that are confortable, very large but a bit too dark, with no natural light and decoration that deserves to be refreshed.
Enjoyable visit of the palace and excellent dinner in the courtyard with music and dancers. Friendly staff.
