"Brunton Boatyard is possibly one of the best hotels I have stayed in anywhere in the world - and I don't make that claim lightly. The architecture and design truly create a cool and peaceful oasis, with a large interior courtyard, breezy semi open lobby and magnificent waterfront location. The rooms are large with enormous beds - small stepping stools are provided to climb up into the bed. The Portugese colonial style furniture and decoration are of high quality. One could sit for hours at the window or on the baclony watching the boats coming in and out of Cochin Harbour. The bathrooms are well appointed and have windows opening on to the same harbour view. Housekeeping do a meticulous job, and delvered a fresh garland of fragrant jasmine every day. After exploring the beautiful old town on foot from the hotel, relaxing by the harbourfront pool with a G &T is blissful perfection. They do a mean fish and chips too if one wants a brief break from the local cuisine. The only let down is breakfast. It's served in a small room on the ground floor and the menu is limited and the offerings a bit mediocre. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Cochin. "
