Would I stay at this location
again:

Most likely
The hotel is not much to look at from outside and you could easily miss it as one of the residential buildings. It is a bit of let down externally in comparison the Ambassador hotel next door. There is no formal lobby but a simple check in desk on the third floor where our rooms were located. There is a lift that worked reliably and the attendant was always welcoming. The four of us had taken two deluxe rooms for four days during April. Though the room standard were quite satisfactory at this price level for Indian hotels, the description and the picture given on the web site for deluxe rooms does not quite match what you find in the rooms. The bathroom of one of the rooms was quite small in comparison to the other room. The double bed in one of the rooms was quite comfortable and as shown in the picture on their web site, the other room had double bed without headboard and was positioned in such a way close to the walls that the second person had to climb in and out of bed over the fist person in bed. However there was additional single bed in this room that the second person could have used, which were not charged for. There is small balcony to the rooms from where you could catch the view of the distant sea or run down buildings across the road. Though the staff is generally quite helpful when asked, the level of information and mannerism is quite inconsistent from person to person. I did not get much help when I had to purchased a ticket for web access for 100Rs P/hour and ended up expiring the ticket even though I had only used the internet for ten minutes and had switched off my laptop without using the log off button, which did not appear on my laptop because of popups being blocked. When I complained about not being told about this when I purchased the ticket, I got different explanations and excuses from different people on staff. I would not again use their web access facility. The breakfast is the best thing at the price of 45 Rs for a two egg, toasts, butter, jam, a pot of tea and a banana. Though the banana can be missing some days due to lack of supply. It’s a shame there is no mini fridge in the room for keeping cool drinks. The location of the hotel is very convenient for most attraction and lots of good eating places nearby and shopping faculties. As we had an evening train to catch, the management were quite gracious in allowing us to keep one of the rooms for extra three hours after checkout without extra charge.

"We stayed in the renovated part of the hotel,so can't comment on the rest. Good location,Tariff and resturaunts nearby.Room spacious and clean. Staff were efficient, although impersonal. Noises seemed to echo throughout the hotel, especially after 7.00am. Could hear office telephone ring two floors away. Do recommend and would stay again."

"This hotel is really easy to find, just tells the taxi driver to go to the Ambassador Hotel in Churchgate, and Chateau Windsor is the building next door. The reception is on the 5th floor. There are varies kind of rooms, 1 to 4 people, with or without private bath, with or without breakfast, etc. Make sure to find out the type you are reserving ahead of time, or even better to have it in writing. They have a kitchen that only serve breakfast. Upon arrival in an early Dec. night, they showed us a tiny room full of cigarette smell, without a private bathroom, right next to the reception. We refused but they insisted that this was the room we paid for and any room with a private bath will incurred an upgrade charge of $20 and up. Oh well, it was midnight and we were tired. So we ended up paying the additional charges for a bathroom. At least, the place was clean, Marine Drive was just a few buildings away, and there were plenty of good restaurants nearby. And these are the reasons why this place is still getting a 3/5 rating from us, just watch out for the bake and switch. "

"Hotel ok. Not exactly representative of the pictures on the website. Fairly expensive for what it is. And I found it nozy (phone rings from reception), ect. "
